Your role
Market Research Coordinator is a member of the Market Intelligence & Analytics department. The Coordinator will be the key support to the department and will perform all tasks related to setting up and monitoring interviews and focus groups, processing and analysing insights and data for qualitative and quantitative market research projects designed by the Market Research Manager and its regional needs throughout the Asia Pacific region including Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Korea and Japan. These tasks involve using various research methodologies and tools including focus groups (online and face to face), in-depth interviews, online surveys and many others depending on the nature of the project designs.
The Coordinator should be expected to be involved in day to day management of projects as well as providing supervisory input of other project team members.
The position is mainly based in HCM but the scope of work will cover both Vietnam and other regional markets such as Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Korea and Japan following school's direction.
Reports to: Market Research Manager
Key Accountabilities
- Collect, combine and develop qualitative/quantitative market research briefs from internal stakeholders
Take details of research enquiries from internal stakeholders/clients
Participate in discussions and achieve decision on most appropriate research design
Write a variety of proposals discussion with Market Research Manager
Develope creative and meaningful sample designs
Calculate relevant budgets and cost
- Develop recruitment questionaire and related testing materials/concepts for market research projects
- Effectively implement both in house and outsourcing qualitative/quantitative projects
Participate in fieldwork observation, quality control and project progress management and relevant project meetings with external agencies for outsourcing projects.
Brief recruiters and prepare necessary documentation.
Monitoring recruitment progress on a day to day basis
Create and maintain the project job file if required
Daily client contact to relay progress reports and respond to client queries.
Update senior team on project progress.
- Monitor and take note for in-depth interviews and focus group discussion, to provide insights and analysis and to report on feedback.
- Work effectively with internal stakeholders and external agencies/partners for relevant matters such as contract paper, quotation, invoicing, interview logistic arrangement, vendor selection and bidding and budgeting etc for research projects
- Provide professional support services for the department, including calendar management which encompasses all arrangements associated with organising internal and external meetings; travel arrangements domestically and internationally; other administrative tasks as required by the department
- Manage and track correspondence and documentation for the team ensuring that actions arising from correspondence and meetings to be completed in a timely and appropriate manner; use judgement to determine level of urgency, ensure the Manager or other relevant senior staff are made aware of matters that require their action. Follow up as required.
- Perform other duties as required by the Market Research Manager
Key Selection Criteria
University degree in Marketing, Business or other relevant field.
At least three years of experience in relevant a similar marketing or market research related role.
Solid knowledge of marketing principles and concepts
Prior experience in market research is desirable although not essential.
Detail oriented and quality driven
Moderating capabilities, including strong ability to relate and communicate with people at all levels and an effective communication style.
A sound knowledge of internet search engines, databases and how to optimize searches
Good attitude and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
Highly developed interpersonal, English and Vietnamese verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently handle a range of situations with people from a diverse range of academic and business backgrounds.
Experience in the interpretation of complex guidelines as well as identifying key information required for data entry and a high level of attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and the flexibility to re-adjust workload priorities to meet competing deadlines.
Demonstrated high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office suite; internet and information management systems
Experience in providing professional support services in a university environment or similar large and complex organisation and covering diary and travel management, correspondence, action management, document development and information management.
Proven analytical and well-developed problem-solving skills, with the ability to take the initiative in identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve existing practices and services.
Extensive experience and expertise in the management of contracts and/or similar systems of process management either through work experience or formal training
Positive, can-do attitude.
Ability to display appropriate behaviours in line with the position and RMIT Values

English Proficiency
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS General 6.0 (or equivalent Linguaskill 160).
