ChampionX has an immediate need for a Technical Service Specialist (Chemist) located in Australia.

What You will do:

  • Management and development of long-standing client relationships, with an intense focus on exceeding client expectations and driving service delivery

  • Work in Perth lab and in the field (onshore & offshore)

  • Delivering a hands-on approach to service.

  • Delivering value through developing and managing technical projects to solve customer problems.

  • Participating in and promoting a safety culture both internally and through client engagement.

  • Monitoring chemical sales, inventory and related efficiencies.

  • Conducting basic on-site chemical analysis as a check of site's equipment, reagents, and techniques.

  • Calibrating chemical treatment program equipment.

  • System Walk-Through: Visual inspection of operating chemical feed and control equipment.

  • Formal and informal training with operating personnel and laboratory technicians in safety, chemical treatment, and performance of the system.

  • Maintaining ongoing monitoring programs on systems.

  • Performing other routine diagnostic services: additional routine services (microbiological, dissolved oxygen testing, paraffin analysis, etc.) as requested.

  • Investigating any material failures.

  • Oil and gas production is a 24-hour operation so call outs are expected albeit rare.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company Safety policies, procedures and rules and follow safe work practices.

  • Participate in team consultation meetings to discuss workplace safety in the department.

  • Report any hazards as soon as you notice them and participate in risk assessments as requested. Assist in the identification of control measures to eliminate or minimize the risk of injury.

  • Attend OHS training as required.

  • Wear personal protective equipment as required for various tasks and report any worn out or defective equipment.

  • Participate in OHS activities such as inspections, investigations, OHS meetings as required from time to time.

General

  • Ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulatory and corporate standards.

  • Maintain strict adherence to the Code of Conduct policy.

Key Qualifications/Skills

  • A Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Science or related Discipline.

  • Some experience in servicing a technical product in the oil, gas and utility chemical market advantageous.

  • A strong safety focus.

  • Business acumen and technical skills that will allow you to provide value to your customers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an accomplished communicator.

  • Ability to work in a multinational, multidisciplinary team yet be self-motivated and a self-starter

  • Personal drive and tenacity for sales growth, quality improvement and customer satisfaction.

  • A valid and full driving license.

  • Excellent computer skills.
