About the team and the role:

As the Director, Technical Program Management for the Buyer and Seller Experience teams, you will drive strategic, large-scale technical programs that enhance and optimize the end-to-end experience. This role is pivotal in orchestrating cross-functional teams, improving product lifecycle velocity, and ensuring the successful execution of critical initiatives. Reporting to the VP of Core Product Excellence, you will play a key role in shaping the future of buyer and seller interactions at a global scale.

What you will accomplish:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and governance of complex, high-impact technical programs; lead end-t-end to align partners, resolve blockers, and optimize delivery.

  • Establish and implement a structured release management process, ensuring alignment on feature tracking, deployment readiness, and risk mitigation.

  • Define and track metrics to measure program execution success, drive continuous improvements, and optimize product development velocity.

  • Set and scale best-in-class Agile methodologies and technical program management practices, enhancing execution efficiency.

  • Establish robust mechanisms for release planning, feature tracking, and product health monitoring across the portfolio

  • Develop and maintain a centralized dashboard to provide insight into the status of upcoming releases.

  • Act as the liaison product and engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and operational efficiency.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to align partners, resolve blockers, and optimize prioritization frameworks.

  • Hire, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers, building a center of excellence for program execution.

  • Cultivate an environment of continuous learning, coaching TPMs on standard methodologies in Agile, partner management, and program execution.

​What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering leadership, or a related role in a large-scale global technology company.

  • Strong technical background with experience working closely with engineering teams on product development lifecycles and global, scalable architectures.

  • Deep expertise in Agile methodologies, Scrum, SAFe, and backlog grooming standard processes.

  • Extensive experience in release management, feature prioritization, and cross-functional alignment in a high-growth environment.

  • Confirmed leadership experience in building and growing teams of TPMs, with a focus on scaling standard methodologies and execution rigor.

  • Exceptional communication and partner management skills, with the ability to influence executive leadership and technical teams.

  • Consistent record of successfully leading complex, multi-stakeholder technical programs focused on marketplace or e-commerce platforms.

  • Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and large-scale distributed systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business objectives into executable technical strategies.

  • Excellent communication and partner management skills, with experience working across engineering, product, and business teams.

  • Passion for driving innovation, enhancing user experiences, and solving complex technical challenges at scale.

The applicable base pay range for this position is dependent on work location. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below:

$190,400 - $254,200

The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below: 

$148,400 - $220,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
