We are looking for a leader for our Engineering Match Practice in Andela.
The matching team is the team making the magic happen in Andela. They ensure our Clients achieve their goals, and find amazing talent from our network to make it happen.
Who are you?
You have been a technical leader in your career, are passionate about technology and love to interact with Clients to solve problems. You may have worked in pre-sales or sales in a technical capacity previously and enjoy leading teams of technical specialists to unlock roadmap acceleration for our Clients.
Job responsibilities
· You will be involved with initial or ongoing strategic conversations with our Clients about their technical and product roadmap
· You will advise the Client on their technical goals, approach and the types of talent they will need on their team to accelerate delivery of their strategic goals.
· You will discuss and explain the merits of hiring through a distributed talent network and the advantages that Andela’s talent network has through our assessment, sourcing, learning and community experiences.
· You will be a thought leader in the Engineering space, creating content and contributing to whitepapers on key engineering topics of interest relevant for our Clients and Talent.
· Lead the teams for all engineering matching specializations (Software Engineering generalists, QA/testing, Cloud, Data, AI) to ensure Client expectations are met and delivered upon.
· Coaching and improving performance of the team to ensure we maximise the number of talent placed with Clients and that both Client and Talent Experience is excellent.
· You will give continuous feedback on our Engineering discipline assessment process and ensure that it is meeting the evolving needs of our Clients.
Previous experience
· Worked in roles with both technical and client-facing elements. E.g. Technology consultant, Pre-sales engineer, Director of Engineering
· Experience in multiple technologies across Software Engineering (e.g. Java, Javascript, Python, Golang) including an understanding of data engineering and AI.
· Experience guiding teams to implement engineering practices such as testing, TDD, CD, observability, devops, and/or Infrastructure as Code.
· Experience of delivering large scale engineering projects or transformations at either Enterprise or SMB.
· Have led mid-sized teams from 10 – 30 people and have a people first mindset.
· Have the ability to build rapport and communicate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
· Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Experience leading remote teams would be beneficial and have experience working remotely effectively.
· Preferably both SMB and Enterprise experience bringing an understanding of the various Engineering Cultures that our Clients encounter Timezone requirements.
Please not that you will be required to fully overlap with EST and may be required to attend calls until 5pm PST with Clients from time to time.
