Summary of Job Description

Pump Assembler II - Trim and Tube is responsible for the final process steps of the pump prior to its installation on the Chassis. Trim and Tube team members are responsible for testing the pump under pressure to identify and fix any leaks. They re-install trim and exterior parts as well as occasional custom fabrication of exterior parts. Trim and Tube installs the final components, such as installing tubing connections, drains and wire harnesses. A team member in this role utilizes reference materials such as orders, drawings, models and schematics. They also use hand and power tools as well as fabrication equipment to complete tasks, and do so in a safe manner.

Essential Functions

  • Perform leak testing under pressure to ensure pump and plumbing hold water
  • Troubleshoot and repair any identified leaks as necessary
  • Install final pump components including electrical prep components
  • Run cables, tubing and harnesses through the pump
  • Read and interpret customer order, basic drawings, schematics and models to ensure product meets customer expectations
  • Interpret order and install components with consideration to downstream functionality
  • Use and navigate a computer
  • Apply basic measurement practices for proper alignment and part attachment
  • Use of hand and power tools as well as fabrication equipment for customization of components (ex. shear, saw, notcher) correctly and safely
  • Communicate and collaborate verbally with peers within and across work centers in an appropriate manner
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Follow direction and complete tasks given by leaders and trainers
  • Operate a crane/hoist for heavy lifting
  • Assist co-workers when needed, sometimes within close proximity of each other
  • Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
  • Work required hours, maintain good attendance and work overtime as needed
  • Operate PIT equipment when needed
  • Identify quality issues and maintain quality standards

Marginal Work Functions

  • Move to other dept. work centers to maintain dept. process flow
  • Assist in training of new team members
  • Utilize steppers, ladders and other work platforms that require balance

Basic Qualifications

  • Previous experience with basic hand tools
  • Experience or exposure in a manufacturing or operations environment

Preferred Qualifications to complete Essential Functions

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Preferred technical diploma or associate degree in an transferable skill/trade
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic hand and power tool knowledge
