About the team and the role

The Analytics team delivers independent business and customer insights that help build strategic decisions across eBay. As the Market Analytics Lead, Germany / Europe, you will collaborate with regional General Managers, Vice Presidents, Finance, and cross-functional teams to understand business performance, recognize growth opportunities, and translate complex marketplace dynamics into clear, actionable insights.

This position merges strategic analytics leadership and business impact. You will guide regional performance analysis, assist in shaping AI-powered analytics, and link insights from customers, sellers, incentives, and marketplace health. This supports decision-making in Germany and wider Europe.

What you will accomplish

  • Collaborate with regional leadership, including General Managers, Vice Presidents, and Finance, to deliver strategic analytics that guide business priorities and decision-making.
  • Lead regional performance assessments and in-depth analyses across customers, sellers, incentives, categories, funnel performance, and marketplace health to identify growth opportunities and business risks.
  • Develop executive-ready narratives that explain business performance, highlight key drivers, and recommend clear, data-informed actions.
  • Define and advance analytics capabilities and performance diagnostics powered by artificial intelligence that improve decision-making and support the adoption of AI-supported tools across regional business processes.
  • Establish benchmark frameworks and measurement approaches that strengthen business performance management and enable more effective strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with regional and horizontal analytics groups to combine customer, seller, commercial, and product insights into a coordinated perspective on marketplace performance.
  • Develop measurement frameworks that support customer acquisition, engagement, dedication, retention, long-term value, and incentives optimization.

What you will bring

  • Significant experience partnering with senior business leaders to deliver strategic analytics and business insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align collaborators across functions, markets, and leadership teams using strong commercial judgment and analytical evidence.
  • Experience structuring complex or ambiguous business problems into clear recommendations and measurable actions.
  • Solid knowledge of the German market and the wider European business environment.
  • Experience across customer, seller, product, incentives, and marketplace analytics, with knowledge of statistics, experimentation, causal analysis, and impact measurement.
  • Excellent executive communication and storytelling skills, with proficiency in both German and English.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, commercial, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Master's degree or MBA preferred, with typically 8–10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a related field, including leadership through senior collaborator influence, cross-functional ownership, and/or people leadership.
