Reporting to the Senior Manager, Credit Portfolio Management, you will lead portfolio risk analysis and insight generation across the Business Lending portfolio. You will identify emerging risks, portfolio opportunities and areas for risk-return optimisation, helping Business Lending operate within risk appetite while supporting sustainable growth and better customer and business outcomes.
You will play a key role in supporting senior stakeholders and governance forums with clear, commercial and actionable insights across origination quality, portfolio performance, arrears, troublesome assets, loss rates, write-offs, Return on Equity and Profit After Capital Charge outcomes.

The Credit Portfolio Management team operates as a Centre of Excellence within Business Lending, supporting all Crews across the BL Domain. We monitor and optimise the credit quality of the Business Lending portfolio through data-driven insights, portfolio oversight, self-service reporting and advisory support. We work closely with product, pricing, arrears management, frontline, data, digital, customer experience and risk teams to support safe and sustainable growth, improve Time To Fund outcomes and ensure portfolios operate within Business Banking risk appetite.
On any given day you will
Lead analysis of credit risk and financial data to identify emerging portfolio trends, risks and opportunities across origination flow, portfolio stock, arrears, troublesome assets, loss rates and write-offs, using advanced analytics and AI-enabled techniques where appropriate.
Develop actionable insights to optimise the Business Lending risk-return profile, including portfolio composition, credit quality, pricing and origination outcomes, Return on Equity and Profit After Capital Charge measures.
Design, enhance and maintain portfolio dashboards, monthly reporting packs and self-service reporting that provide clear visibility of portfolio performance, key risk indicators, risk appetite utilisation and emerging risks, while using AI and analytical tools to automate insights and improve reporting efficiency.
Use hypothesis-led analytics, anomaly detection and emerging AI capabilities to identify changes in portfolio behaviour, surface early warning indicators and improve the speed and quality of decision support.
Support senior management and governance forums through clear analysis, monthly reporting, committee papers and recommendations that enable effective oversight and timely decision-making.
Provide credit risk advice, insight and constructive challenge to stakeholders across Product, Pricing, Frontline, Arrears Management and Line 2 Risk.
Your experience looks like
3+ years in credit risk or similar analytical role.
Demonstrated ability to analyse credit portfolio performance and translate findings into practical recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Practical experience using AI, machine learning or advanced analytics to improve credit risk insights, portfolio monitoring, forecasting, anomaly detection, dashboard automation or decision support, with an understanding of responsible use and governance.
Strong analytical capability, including proficiency in at least one of SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI or similar analytical/reporting tools.
Experience developing or improving dashboards, reporting, monitoring frameworks or portfolio insights that support business decision-making.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across Product, Pricing, Frontline, Risk, Data, Digital and senior management teams.
Tertiary qualifications in a quantitative, business or finance-related discipline such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Studies, Engineering, Science, Commerce or a related field.
