Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony continues to build a world class digital bank – with smart savings products and capabilities that help consumers prepare for their futures.

The VP, Consumer Bank - Strategic Initiatives will oversee cross-functional strategic projects for the Consumer Bank from concept to delivery. You will act as the bridge between product, design, engineering and end-users, collaborating closely across Agile Release Trains (ARTs), supporting business functions, and technology. You will be responsible for ensuring integration and execution of strategic solutions that align with the bank’s strategic goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, RTE, STE and architects to gather business requirements

  • Transform gathered requirements into well-defined epics that align with the strategic objectives

  • Facilitate smooth handoff of epics to product managers for features and user story development

  • Continuously refine and groom epics to ensure they remain relevant, detailed and aligned with evolving business needs

  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles in SaFE Agile Framework, coordinating with Operations, Marketing and Compliance

  • Lead pilot testing phases and user feedback to improve customer usability

  • Ensure solutions meet quality standards and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain clear project documentation, including roadmaps, test plans and feedback reports

  • Proactively identify and track risks, roadblocks, decisions and opportunities related to solution delivery

  • Regularly communicate the status of key initiatives to business stakeholders

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in business related field or in lieu of degree, minimum 12 years of equivalent experience

  • Minimum 7 years of financial services experience, including direct experience in three or more of the below.

    • Strategic initiatives

    • Consumer banking products

    • Digital transformation

    • Leading large-scale programs/solutions

    • Managing cross-functional projects in a scaled agile environment

Desired Characteristics:

  • 3+ years of Consumer Banking Experience

  • Certifications in SAFe, Agile, Program Management, Product Management, and/or Product Ownership

  • Demonstrated success delivering end-to-end solutions

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management/influencing skills across tech/business

  • Proficiency in solution/program management tools and frameworks (Jira, Confluence, SAFe toolchains, etc.)

  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing data-centric recommendations

  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities through cross-team collaboration in an agile environment

  • High emotional intelligence

  • Executive presentation skills with the ability to synthesize complex information

Grade/Level: 13

                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

                                                            

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
