Position Overview:

AmeriVet Partners Management, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Corporate Accountant to join our finance team. This position is crucial for supporting the financial integrity of our corporate entity (support center) by assisting in the preparation of month-end financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation and be familiar with fixed assets, lease accounting, and revenue recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements for the corporate entity, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.

  • Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are promptly addressed.

  • Manage prepaid schedules, recording and tracking prepaid expenses to ensure proper expense recognition.

  • Record accrued liabilities and ensure all expenses are captured in the correct accounting period.

  • Ensure proper department coding for all transactions, maintaining consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.

  • Record practice cost allocations, ensuring that costs are appropriately distributed among different departments and practices.

  • Complete balance sheet schedules and reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurately represented and discrepancies are investigated.

  • Collaborate with the accounting team to improve processes and enhance the efficiency of the month-end close cycle.

  • Stay current with accounting standards and regulations, applying them effectively to the company’s financial practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate accounting or a similar role, with a solid understanding of GAAP.

  • Strong knowledge of fixed assets, lease accounting, and revenue recognition principles.

  • Experience with acquisition accounting and debt and equity transactions is a plus.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with experience in creating financial reports and analyses.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
