Job Description Summary

Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, or tools, and compiles stock / receiving records in stockroom. Coordinates flow of product to and from finishing operations. Initiates, receives and reconciles purchase orders.

Job Description

  • Follows safe operating procedures
  • Maintain 7S standards
  • Performs TPM activities as required
  • Review and follows quality, process and operator instructions
  • Perform safety checks as required and accurately record
  • Identifies, contains and generates Discrepant Material Report (DMR) for any nonconforming material and forwards to the Material Review Board (MRB)
  • Communicates with co-workers to discuss problems and concerns
  • Insures parts sent to Queue area are packed to the correct quantity.  Notifies Team Leader or equivalent when this does not occur
  • Accurately reports production and scrap using Plexus
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities
  • Wrap, band, and weigh materials in preparation for sending to outside operations
  • Verify routing process from routing tags to verify what outside operation to send part to next
  • “QUE” product in area to meet minimum lot sizes required by outside processors
  • Attach appropriate paper work to product
  • Schedule route for Outside Operation truck daily
  • Load and unload Outside Secondary truck daily
  • Drive company truck to pick up and deliver
  • Interact with Team Leaders, Planning, and Shift Supervisors to coordinate activity at outside operations
  • Create Bills of Ladings for Out Bound Secondary shipments
  • Coordinate preparation and shipment of returnable dunnage used by outside operations
  • Create quality notification stickers and send to outside operations for their use on inspected product (green dots and inspection tags)
  • Perform visual audit of material for damage, part verification, and quantity received from outside suppliers
  • File purchase order copies and receivers in appropriate files
  • Verify routing on both outgoing and incoming product to ensure proper processing
  • Determine appropriate area for placement of incoming material for further processing
  • Enter incoming material receipts from outside suppliers into Plexus as required
  • Reconcile open Purchase Orders at Outside Vendors
  • Obtain Inventory from Outside Suppliers at the end of every month on all parts at Outside Operations. Notify SCM team when differences are noticed.
  • Enter scrap received from outside inspection into Plexus
  • Coordinate drop shipments made from outside suppliers direct to customer and enter parts completed into Finished Goods location if required
  • Contact suppliers as necessary to expedite or set up work priorities
  • Cross train for back up coverage as required in Store Room.  Knowledge and training in Plex will be required
  • Must be proficient in using Plex for ordering, receiving, issuing and controlling the Store Room inventory
  • Plex knowledge required for purchasing & receiving.
  • Cycle count store room items, record issues and receipts
  • Knowledgeable of supplier names and numbers and needs to know where to locate the information in Plex
  • Knowledgeable of part numbers and areas where stored in stockroom to maintain inventory control
  • Match packing slip to purchase order to verify item and receipt quantity
  • Deliver store room items as necessary
  • Knowledge of components inventory is handled.  Unloads, stores, and does weekly physical inventory on purchase components used in the assembly operations. Help to label purchase components when necessary upon arrival
  • Contact suppliers to check order status or expedite items as required
  • Unload trucks, do visual inspection of product and match receipts to internal purchase order specifications.  Follow proper procedures for damaged product or containers
  • Must file purchase orders and receive paperwork in appropriate files daily
  • Assists other employees as directed by the SCM, Team Leader and / or Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

Education:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

      Experience:

  • Must have good communication skills to communicate with vendors and internal personnel
  • Required to obtain lift truck certification
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and Plex business system
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must get a physical card to drive single axle truck
  • Must be able to drive company vehicle
