The Industrial Engineer III is responsible for leading the planning, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of integrated production and service delivery systems. This role ensures optimal performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, and cost control within the production environment.
The Industrial Engineer III drives process optimization initiatives, leads cross-functional projects, and applies data-driven methodologies to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput. The position focuses on developing scalable solutions that maximize the utilization of equipment, workforce, and facility resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity across assigned areas
Analyze and optimize production workflows, sequencing, and process methods to maximize utilization of equipment and personnel
Design, specify, and support procurement of production tooling, equipment, and workstation layouts
Lead facility layout planning, line balancing, and workstation relocation projects
Develop and validate labor standards using time studies, work measurement, and process analysis
Evaluate production metrics and implement strategies to improve cycle time, throughput, and cost performance
Drive changeover reduction initiatives through standardization and implementation of best practices (SMED, lean tools, etc.)
Partner with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules
Analyze quality and production data to identify root causes of scrap and inefficiencies; implement corrective and preventive actions
Lead efforts to reduce machine-generated and manual assembly defects using statistical analysis and process control methods
Conduct capacity planning and workforce utilization analysis to support business needs and growth
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to improve end-to-end processes
Support implementation of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and cost reduction programs
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and support staff
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required
Minimum of 2+ years of relevant industrial engineering experience required
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred

Strong understanding and practical application of industrial engineering tools, including:
Work measurement and time studies
Process mapping and workflow optimization
Facility layout and workstation design
Capacity planning and line balancing
Proven ability to lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
Strong project management and organizational skills
Effective communication and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Ability to work independently and lead projects with minimal supervision
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with Microsoft Visio, Project, and AutoCAD or similar design tools
Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and data analysis tools preferred
