Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned SAP Project Systems Lead with deep expertise in S/4HANA Project Systems (PS) and Enterprise Portfolio & Project Management (EPPM) to deliver integrated project management capabilities in a Greenfield implementation. This role is central to enabling compliant, efficient, and transparent project planning, execution, and financial control across capital programmes, internal initiatives, and customer-facing projects.


The Lead will own the end-to-end solution for PS and EPPM, ensuring that project structures, cost planning, settlement, and reporting frameworks are designed to support business strategy, auditability, and long-term portfolio management. Working closely with Finance, Procurement, HR, and PMO stakeholders, the role will ensure that projects are delivered with full cross-functional integration.

About the Role

As the functional authority for PS and EPPM, you will shape the solution blueprint, configuration, and assurance of all project-related processes. You will lead Explore workshops with business stakeholders to define WBS structures, networks, milestones, budgets, and resource allocations, while ensuring seamless integration with Procurement, Finance, Time Management, and Billing.

You will govern WRICEF delivery, oversee data migration and cutover planning, and ensure that project data is accurate, compliant, and actionable. Beyond delivery, you will contribute to capability uplift, mentoring consultants and embedding project governance frameworks that align with regulatory and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workshops with business, Finance, and PMO to define project types, governance rules, and financial tracking requirements.

  • Configure and govern SAP PS and EPPM including WBS, networks, milestones, cost planning, budgetary control, and settlement rules.

  • Define integration points with FI/CO (cost/revenue capture), MM (procurement), HCM/Time (resource time recording), and SD/CPM (project billing).

  • Oversee WRICEF specifications, test cycles, and regression scenarios to ensure functional integrity.

  • Support data migration for open projects, WBS structures, and cost balances; conduct mock conversion runs.

  • Drive cutover planning and post-go-live assurance for project operations.

  • Develop reporting frameworks (Fiori/SAC dashboards) for project visibility, variance analysis, and audit traceability.

  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to programme governance forums.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Demonstrated track record in delivering SAP PS and/or EPPM in S/4HANA Greenfield transformations.

  • Deep expertise in WBS structures, cost planning, budgeting, settlements, progress analysis, and project reporting.

  • Strong understanding of integration with Finance (FI/CO), Procurement (MM), SD/Commercial Project Mgmt, and HCM/Time Mgmt.

  • Experience in WRICEF governance, functional test cycles, and cutover planning.

  • Awareness of portfolio management and project governance frameworks in regulated industries.

  • SAP S/4HANA Project Systems (PS) and EPPM (Portfolio & Project Mgmt, CPM, Scheduling).

  • Fiori apps (Project Briefs, Gantt planning, Project Cost Analysis).

  • SAP Activate and Agile delivery frameworks.

  • JIRA, Confluence, Solution Manager, Signavio.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Project Management, Finance, Engineering, or IT.

  • SAP PS or EPPM certification (preferred).

  • Additional credentials such as PMP, Prince2, or Portfolio Management certification are advantageous.

Stakeholder & Soft Skills

  • Strong client-facing skills; able to engage confidently with PMO Directors, Finance Controllers, and Programme Leadership.

  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on compliance, transparency, and audit readiness.

  • Collaborative leader with proven mentoring capability and cross-workstream influence.

  • Comfortable operating in high-assurance, multi-project environments such as Aerospace, Defence, or Public Sector.
