Summary

The Senior Accountant is a financial specialist who has a deep understanding of accounting principles, reporting and ERP systems in a manufacturing environment that will work across multiple areas of accounting. With this knowledge, the Senior Accountant prepares appropriate adjusting entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting. The role will also have cost accounting responsibilities for setting standards and variance analysis.

This position will report to the Director of Finance & Accounting at HIESA and will work remotely with occasional travel to the office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with financial transaction recording standards (e.g., general ledger, cash payments/collections, tax transactions, etc.).

  • Control/reconciliation of accounts and records (balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.).

  • Accounting reports/schedules for internal audiences (management reporting) and for external audiences (including consolidation of financial statements, cash flow reporting, budget reporting, etc.).

  • Cost accounting (including standard setting, allocation of direct/indirect costs, variance analysis).

  • Contribute to budgeting/forecast processes.

  • Support external & internal audit activities.

  • Assist with special projects as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting

  • 3+ years of accounting experience

  • Knowledge of SAP and Sarbanes-Oxley  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and in teams as well as prioritize tasks and deliverables 

  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization

  • Ability to respond to a fast paced, results oriented, rapidly changing environment

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently on a daily basis
