Summary of Job Duties:

The Education and Instruction Specialist is responsible for providing educational and training programs to the general public, special needs students, and/or employees. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Education, Technology or related healthcare field PLUS five (5) years of experience with scheduling/automation software OR High School Diploma/GED PLUS nine (9) years of experience with scheduling/automation software.

                                                                    

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Technology savvy; able to trouble shoot simulation and skills equipment.
  • The ability to think creatively and manage logistics, excellent communication skills, and experience in establishing and maintaining protocols.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Assists course faculty with the development and facilitation of sims for the CON.                                     
  • Works collaboratively as a member of the IPSC team and other simulation specialists at UAMS to meet the clinical simulation needs of the CON.                                                                                                           
  • Provides logistic support for educational services offered by the CON.                                                    
  • Follows the Healthcare Simulation Standard of Best Practice to create, maintain, and assist faculty with documentation of simulation for curricular alignment.
  • Facilitates simulations and assist with faculty development as needed until faculty are consistently effective in executing simulations and debriefings.                                                                                       
  • Supports and maintains an ongoing simulation evaluation program using valid and reliable tools.            
  • Coordinates simulation events and room setup with the Simulation Coordinator and IPSC Coordinator.
  • Facilitates simulations for faculty, staff, and students.                                                                                 
  • Collaborate with the Centers for Simulation Education and IPSC team in Standardized Patient onboarding, training, and evaluation.                                                                                                             
  • Assists with data collection and student/faculty evaluation.                                                                       
  • Assists with gathering the necessary supplies and equipment to efficiently facilitate simulations.            
  • Collaborates with the IPSC team to construct, dismantle, and store simulated environments.                  
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the technology to facilitate simulations.                                          
  • Supports the IPSC operations as needed.     
  • Other duties as assigned.    

                                


Salary Information:
