Position Summary:

The Global Ninja Test Kitchen is looking for a Senior Recipe Specialist, APAC to join our vibrant group of global chefs and food scientists. Our team takes a unique approach to product development, blending culinary arts and the science of food. The Ninja Test Kitchen shapes the product roadmap, development and story creation.

The Ninja Test Kitchen is highly collaborative, and team members are expected to contribute feedback and problem-solving ideas across all projects. Team members are expected to have a strong knowledge of the industry, to be familiar with the latest food trends, and to foster a curiosity for product development. The Global Recipe Strategy team oversees the vision for recipe strategy and development for in box and out of box content – including recipe books, brand partnerships, and shoots to name a few.

This is a full-time position is based in our Needham, MA headquarters with an expectation of up to 30% travel around the APAC region as needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with APAC Marketing leads in Japan, Taiwan and India to develop a network of chefs and recipe developers focused on the Ninja Recipe Strategy for their regions
    • Define recipe strategy that highlights key selling features, product benefits and delight consumers post-purchase
    • Own outreach, relationship and provide project guidelines for chefs and recipe developers
    • Update and maintain recipe development and collateral calendar for assigned APAC markets
    • Align with APAC marketing leads on approval of recipe development budgets
  • Review and provide feedback on recipes from external developers – ensuring they are properly written and reflect accurate product functionality and usage. Own markups in creative system and manage recipe hand off process with Creative
  • Review recipe insights and feedback from internal and external consumer testing, turning the insights into action. Work with chefs and recipe developers to modify recipes as needed
  • Review recipes/recipe strategy for external events and activations, including TV, media events in the markets
  • Assists, attends and presents at internal and external events, as needed
  • Monitors and research industry trends on an ongoing basis and brings new ideas to the team

 

Attributes and Skills:

  • 3+ years of related culinary/marketing/management experience or a related field
  • Familiarity/experience with cuisines and culinary trends of APAC regions
  • Degree from an accredited Culinary Arts program, or Culinology; Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Marketing or Communications; or combination of education and experience
  • A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi-functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Good balance of strong strategic, critical thinking skills and being detail-oriented
  • A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment.  The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Resourceful, well-organized, highly dependable, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to be a team player as well as work independently
  • Comfort with international hours – role will be joining calls with teams in other parts of the world that may fall early in the day or evening
  • Recipe strategy and food writing experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
  • Desired but not required: Bilingual (Japanese, Chinese, or Hindi)
