We're hiring a DevOps Engineer III!

About this position

The DevOps Engineer III is responsible for maintaining the operational status of cloud based and physical infrastructure for Plexus Worldwide. This role will maintain both physical and virtualized environments, managing services related to data storage, system health, and hosting infrastructure. In addition to systems engineering, this role will also aide in the deployment of code; taking projects from staging to production environments. This role will require someone who is comfortable and confident in advocating, promoting, and advising on best practices. The DevOps Engineer III will work with solution engineering team to propose and implement new technologies and solutions that take Plexus to the next level.

What you will accomplish

  • You work with our engineering team to identify and implement cloud-based solutions with the company
  • You carry out engineering duties such as software installations, access control list maintenance, disk storage management, data backup and recovery, and system patching.
  • You will configure, maintain, and use best practices to apply global changes, push out new application code, and monitor system health.
  • You develop and maintain infrastructure as code.
  • You provide off-hours support when needed to troubleshoot problems with mission-critical applications and take actions based on root-cause analysis.
  • You will lead and be at the forefront of developing detailed project specifications and implementation plans.
  • You design, implement, and extend automated deployment script updates, support, and maintenance for all releases and platforms.
  • You design and review new services before building them.
  • You design and improve deployment pipelines to ensure builds are deployed accurately and timely.

You should have

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and equivalent experience. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • You are a DevOps champion with 8+ years of experience and work closely with other internal teams to build security, reliability, and scalability into the development lifecycle.
  • You have experience building large-scale enterprise architecture solutions, including security concerns, high availability methods, multiple platforms, hardware considerations, network design, monitoring solutions, virtualization, performance, capacity planning, and information management practices.
  • You're an expert with AWS and cloud architecture.
  • You're an expert with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, New Relic, etc. Strong experience with containers and tools such as docker and Kubernetes.
  • You're an expert in development methodologies and experience with Python development.
  • You have a depth of experience with infrastructure, such as code tools and methods, CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform.
  • You have experience with CI/CD and configuration management tools, including Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, etc. 
  • You have a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • You have experience with agile processes (Kanban / Scrum), including familiarity with JIRA.
  • You have demonstrated critical thinking skills and can pivot when necessary.
  • You identify problems, analyze data, and present conclusions effectively.
  • You are self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You work cross-functionally, creating a collaborative and positive experience.
