About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience at PlayStation, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and enhance the developer experience for our engineering and IT staff. Joining our Engineering Productivity Services team, you will play a crucial role in creating automated workflows and streamlined processes to support engineers in their day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the "day in the life" of SIE's engineering and IT staff to identify areas for improvement in their daily experiences.

  • Develop automated solutions that reduce friction in the most common engineering and IT workflows.

  • Create self-service applications and integrations for requirements outside the common workflows.

  • Provide support to customers when technology requirements exceed existing automation and self-service options.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience developing APIs, services, and/or tools in Go.

  • A solid understanding of engineering standard methodologies, including requirement gathering and analysis, secure and scalable code development with unit tests, participation in code reviews and documentation, and experience with multiple technology stacks.

  • Experience developing against one or more developer experience tools, such as GitHub, Jenkins, Tilt, Docker Swarm, or Backstage/Cortex

  • Familiarity with at least one cloud provider, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform.

  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a globally distributed team.
