The IBM Maximo (MAS) Functional & Technical Specialist supports the configuration, integration, testing, and data management of IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 8.x, with emerging exposure to MAS 9.x.
This role bridges maintenance business operations and system execution, ensuring reliable asset management, inventory, procurement, and work management processes within a manufacturing environment—without requiring deep platform architecture ownership.

What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)

Functional Configuration & Business Support

  • Configure and maintain core MAS modules including Work Management, Preventive Maintenance, Job Plans, Inventory/Storeroom, Procurement, Assets, and Locations.

  • Support role-based security, Start Centers, KPIs, domains, attributes, and crossover field configuration across MAS 8.x/9.x.

  • Participate in fit-gap workshops and translate operational requirements into scalable Maximo configurations.

  • Guide business users through UAT, training, and post-deployment hyper-care support.

  • Maintain clear documentation for configurations, SOPs, process flows, and release notes.

Integration, Reporting & Technical Enablement

  • Configure and test integrations using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), including Object Structures, Endpoints, and Publish/Invoke Channels.

  • Support REST/JSON-based integrations with ERP, SCADA/historian platforms, mobile applications, and IoT systems.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for validation, workflow logic, and conditional processing.

  • Create and enhance BIRT reports, KPIs, and supporting SQL queries aligned to maintenance and planning needs.

  • Assist with data cleansing, migration preparation, and validation for assets, locations, PMs, and inventory.

  • Support functional validation and regression testing during MAS upgrades (8.x → 9.x).

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Experience

  • 3–6 years of hands-on IBM Maximo experience.

  • Minimum 2+ years working with MAS 8.x; exposure to MAS 9.x strongly preferred.

  • Industry experience in manufacturing, utilities, or energy environments preferred.

Functional Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of work order lifecycle, PMs, Job Plans, inventory management, purchasing, and service requests.

  • Experience with Maximo Work Centers and/or Maximo Mobile.

  • Ability to translate operational maintenance processes into effective system configurations.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Maximo Integration Framework (MIF).

  • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON structures, and integration troubleshooting.

  • Experience developing BIRT reports and using SQL for analysis or debugging.

  • Basic workflow configuration and automation scripting capability.

Platform Exposure (Preferred)

  • Awareness of MAS architecture on Red Hat OpenShift and cloud environments (Azure or AWS).

  • Basic understanding of SSO integration (Azure AD / Entra ID) and certificate management.

  • Exposure to Dev/Test lifecycle management, fix pack deployment, and upgrade support.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

Work Model & Travel

  • Work arrangement: [On-site / Hybrid / Remote].

  • Occasional travel to manufacturing or operational sites may be required.

  • Flexibility to support testing or deployments outside standard hours during release cycles.
