Grimsby (RDA) (I) - Welding equipment rentalThe HR Manager will partner with Business leadership teams and provide Human Resource leadership and execution with a focus to build positive employee relations. The incumbent will learn the business they support, building relationships and looking for training and development opportunities to support business targets.
In terms of strategic aspects of this role, you will be responsible for:
Develop strong, trusted partnerships with business leaders. You are there to act as an advisor and partner in the areas of organizational effectiveness, talent management, employee relations, performance and development coaching & counseling.
Lead and execute change initiatives across the businesses related to talent and HR strategy. In other words, show your business why topics such as employee engagement and talent management are critical to growing their business.
Contribute actively to the development and implementation of overall HR strategy. Act as change agent in identifying opportunities to improve workforce and HR process effectiveness to enable business strategy and results.
In partnership with the HR team, design and deliver talent development opportunities.
Actively participate in Business Operations Reviews to review business financials, identify business opportunities and drive the Human Capital agenda.
In terms of the core HR functions, you will also be responsible for:
Lead associate onboarding process, ensuring effective execution by managers; work closely with hiring managers and Talent Management with a focus on successfully integrating and retaining associates.
Develop and facilitate performance calibration process with regional management teams to ensure effective and consistent performance management systems in place.
Actively lead and engage leaders and associates in evaluation of the employee relations climate and implement solutions to issues that arise. Counsel employees and managers on career planning, conflict resolution and work related challenges. Conduct stay and exit interviews to evaluate work climates and morale. Conduct investigations as needed in an objective and professional manner to determine corrective action.
Advise managers on performance management including appropriate corrective counseling, training and development, and progressive discipline techniques and processes. Review documentation to ensure consistency with Airgas policies, procedures, and guiding principles. Partner with the Legal department or senior HR leadership at the appropriate time.
Administer all other HR policies and programs. Recommend and implement revisions to policies, programs and practices as needed. Ensure compliance with all provincial, state and federal statutes, laws and regulations including but not limited to all applicable wage and hour laws, and regulations related to Canadian Employment Standards, FMLA, EEO and ADA.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
A Bachelor’s degree is required, a Master’s degree is preferred
A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR generalist experience is required
A passion for safety and human resources excellence with proven results as an HR business partner.
The ability to quickly build trust and rapport with leaders and front line associates.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Demonstrated experience defining and executing HR strategies.
Demonstrated understanding of HR principles and practices, employment laws and regulations, and effectively leading comprehensive ER Investigations
Strong organizational and communication skills are required
Demonstrated ability to be personable, professional, responsive, knowledgeable, credible, trusted and drive value to an organization and to clients
Strong experience with Microsoft office skills (Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Demonstrated experience of HRIS and ATS (Workday)
An HR related certification i.e. PHR, SPHR is preferred
