Internship Program Overview: Our 2025 Summer Internship Program is a paid 10-12-week internship program, scheduled to begin on June 2, 2025. Interns are expected to work full-time throughout the summer.  

Summer interns will join an intern class consisting of undergraduate and graduate students to work on exciting projects in one of EDC’s many dynamic departments. Summer Interns will also participate in training programs, networking events, and other professional development opportunities over the course of the program. 

Our Summer 2025 Internship Program application deadline is Monday, December 2. All materials must be submitted by EOD that date – incomplete or late applications will not be considered. 

Department Overview: 

NYCEDC’s Management Information Systems (MIS) department seeks to align information systems & technology with the goals and objectives of the organization, dispenses technical services, and contributes to the strategic direction of NYCEDC. The department does this by keeping the infrastructure and environment in-step with technology and by integrating people, processes and tools while working with internal staff and external agencies to constantly promote collaboration and improve efficiency. 

MIS is responsible for planning, choosing, buying and installing the company’s computer and information-processing operation. MIS oversees the development of corporate standards, technology architecture, technology evaluation, manage vendor relations, align IT with the business and develop management information systems. 

Some upcoming projects and tasks will be creating images for laptops, creating reports for ticketing system, configuring AV set up for conference room equipment, & hands on experience troubleshooting hardware. 

Intern Responsibilities: 

  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot network scanners and printers 
  • Provide support to users in all remote offices 
  • Research various technical problems and provide solutions to end-users and departmental staff 
  • Monitor Helpdesk calls and email messages and prioritize requests according to importance. Make sure all Helpdesk inquiries are answered in a timely fashion 
  • Provide basic support for hardware, software, and network access 
  • Track record of all hardware and software inventory 
  • Learn about Networking, Vlans, Audio/Video systems, Imaging, configuring hardware and supporting software. 
  • Build data dictionary, assist in data analysis, & support master data management.   
  • Help with data cleansing using SQL Queries & Excel tools. 
  • Help with building library of system & process artifacts using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Miro, etc. 

Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Information Systems, Computer Science 
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program; recent graduates are also encouraged to apply 
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for the mission of NYCEDC 
  • Proven ability in using database and presentation tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word 
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills 
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines 
  • Proactive and able to work in collaborative, cross-functional teams 
  • Must be able to work full-time and complete the entirety of the 10-week program 

Salary Target: $19.00/hour (undergraduate-level students); $24.00/hour (graduate-level students)
