About The Opportunity

Supervises the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Implements operational strategies in assigned area(s) to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitability 
  • Accountable for assigned area’s key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies and provides guidance to production associates to ensure scorecard objectives are met
  • Supports capacity planning process to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery demands
  • Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
  • Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the salaried and hourly production team, working closely with direct reports
  • Interacts with key stakeholders to provide technical support and/or resolve order problems or complaints
  • Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications
  • Provide daily coaching and feedback to all department employees
  • Assign work and monitor production orders as they arrive in department
  • Monitor schedules, rush orders, hot list, call-ins, etc.
  • Work with other production and support departments to reach consensus on most effective/efficient method of production
  • Participate in department SQPC boards reporting out any concerns, successes, etc.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and increased productivity opportunities
  • Enhance internal and external department communication toward creating a cohesive work environment
  • Participate in monthly department meetings and other meetings as needed to communicate policy, revisions, general updates, etc.
  • Provide backup ECATS responsibilities and resolve issues with Payroll when necessary
  • Assist the Department Area Manager on the following areas: weekly/daily manning requirements, overtime requirements, quality complaints
  • Act as a liaison between customer and department
  • Assume the roles and responsibilities of the Department Manager during scheduled vacations or unforeseen absences, ensuring seamless continuity of operations, effective team leadership, and timely decision-making to maintain departmental performance and service standards
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance activities on all equipment
  • Complete employee disciplinary issues and performance reviews in a timely manner and in line with employee handbook
  • Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance
  • Actively participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

  • Attends training and required meetings outside normal work schedule, typically two or fewer per month   after initial training period.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - you care about people and are passionate about helping others!
  • Microsoft Office skills: Windows, Outlook, SharePoint, SAP, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Must have good color perception.
  • Knowledge of inks and solvent characteristics and effects in different uses. 

Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required
