Get to Know the Opportunity:

An Technical Implementation Consultant is responsible for supporting Benefitfocus business partners as they work with clients to gather data integration requirements and deliver solutions that meet their data integration needs. This Consultant will work in conjunction with a Benefitfocus System Integrator partner and employers or carrier customers during an implementation or with existing customers when they encounter business events that may require changes to how data is exchanged with Benefitfocus. 

The Consultant will become familiar with Benefitfocus and industry standard and custom data integration approaches. A critical component to a successful implementation of the Benefitfocus Platform is ensuring on-time and high-quality data integration.

The Consultant will be working with business partners and customers (Human Resource, Benefits representatives, and leaders) to understand their business and technical requirements.  The Consultant will then work with Benefitfocus Engineering teams to relay customer requirements allowing the appropriate solutions to be developed. The consultant will finally coordinate a testing effort with the Benefitfocus System Integrator team, customer, and multiple internal departments to fully test the developed solutions and transition them to a production team.  This position requires a self-motivated, customer-focused professional with strong follow-through.  It also requires a strong technical aptitude to relay business requirements to technical software engineers.

Please Note:  Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule. 

The Contributions You’ll Make:

  • Evaluate customer requests to determine if existing solutions can be leveraged or if a new solution would be required
  • Facilitate technical discovery sessions, standard integration and functionality overviews, trainings, and implementation project meetings
  • Gather and understand a customer’s integration needs and position the right integration solution based on those requirements 
  • Translate customer requirements and document accurate and concise requirements in an official requirements statement, refine the requirements document based on feedback from the customer and internal engineering reviews
  • Support Test Managers during Joint Implementation Testing
  • Triage and resolve issues identified in the testing effort
  • Support global partner testing associates
  • Ensure a smooth transfer from the customer’s legacy systems to the Benefitfocus platform
  • Seek customer and internal engineering sign-off to ensure a smooth transition of integrations to on-going production support teams
  • Align delivery of data integrations with the overall milestones of an implementation project
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Operations and Sales to ensure shared knowledge on behalf of Professional Services – Consulting
  • Adapt to a fast-paced work environment while managing multiple and changing priorities
  • Support a general workload of 5-10 concurrent projects and across as many customers
  • Other tasks as assigned

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and implementation environment 
  • 3+ years employee benefits, billing, human resource generalist, or software/platform consulting experience with a client-facing aspect 
  • Experience with systems integration and field-level interface design is desired
  • Knowledge of 834, HR-XML, APIs including SOAP & REST services, SSOs, and other EDI formats
  • Strong understanding of project implementation methodology and techniques 
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction, collaboration, and self-learning 
  • Drive for data accuracy and completeness 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organization skills 
  • Strong requirements capturing ability 
  • Strong knowledge of multiple software applications 
  • Ability to multitask competing priorities in a fast-paced results-based environment. 

Preferred Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred, (STEM field).

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya may offer incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$75,230 - $94,040 USD
