👩‍💻 The role

We’re looking for a Technical SEO Manager to own and scale organic search across Headout’s global platform. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role focused on technical SEO in a large-scale, multi-domain, highly localized environment.

You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Content, and Localization teams to identify SEO risks and opportunities early, diagnose traffic drops, lead recovery efforts, and ensure technical decisions translate into meaningful business impact.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex systems, ambiguity, and ownership, and enjoys connecting deep technical SEO work to real outcomes like traffic, conversions, and revenue.

🤩What makes this role special?

  • Operate in a Complex SEO Environment: Work on a global platform with interconnected domains, localization layers, and high-intent pages across cities and attractions.
  • Own Problems End-to-End: From identifying issues to root-cause analysis, solution design, execution, and impact measurement — you own the full loop.
  • Deep Technical Focus: This role prioritizes technical SEO, crawl behavior, indexation, and recovery over content writing or link-building.
  • High-Trust IC Role: Deep ownership, autonomy, and strong cross-functional influence.

🧠 What You’ll Work On

  • Own technical SEO strategy and execution across a large-scale, multi-domain platform.
  • Analyze crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, and crawl budget.
  • Investigate traffic drops, ranking losses, and indexing issues; perform root-cause analysis and lead recovery initiatives.
  • QA product and engineering changes to assess SEO impact before and after launches.
  • Partner with engineering teams to design and implement scalable, SEO-friendly solutions.
  • Own SEO performance for high-impact entities (cities, attractions, landmarks) and continuously optimize for growth and recovery.
  • Translate technical findings into clear business impact, priorities, and trade-offs for cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Track performance, run experiments, forecast impact, and communicate insights with clarity and ownership.

đź’ťWhat skills & experience do you need?

  • 3–6 years of hands-on SEO experience, with a strong focus on technical SEO in a product, marketplace, or large-scale B2C environment.
  • Proven experience working with complex site architectures, multiple domains, or deeply localized platforms.
  • Strong understanding of crawl behavior, indexation, sitemaps, and site structure.
  • Experience diagnosing SEO issues, performing root-cause analysis, and driving recovery from traffic or ranking drops.
  • Working knowledge of AI-powered search and generative retrieval systems (e.g., Google AI Overviews, LLM-driven search), including the impact of crawlability, indexation, structured data, and entities.
  • Ability to QA and reason about code and engineering experiments from an SEO perspective.
  • Strong data intuition — comfortable using data to prioritize work and measure impact.
  • High ownership mindset: able to identify problems independently and drive solutions without detailed briefs.
  • Clear communicator who can bridge technical details with business context.

✨Nice to Have

  • Experience with travel, marketplaces, or geo-based platforms.
  • Familiarity with server log analysis, structured data, XML sitemaps, and large-scale SEO monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Screaming Frog, log analysis tools, or custom crawlers.
  • Experience handling domain penalties or large-scale SEO recoveries.
