Job Title: Client Care Assistant (Veterinary Receptionist)
Salary: £17,174.30 per annum
Location: Palmerston Vet Group, Buckhurst Hill
Job Type: Part-time, Permanent
Hours: 27.5 hours per week. A mixture of early and late shifts. Monday to Saturday. 1:5 Saturday shift 

 

An exciting opportunity has opened at Palmerston Vet Group for an experienced and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our fantastic front-of-house team!

We would like to hear from candidates who are friendly, customer-focused and confident working in a busy environment.

The position will best suit a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a passion for providing excellent customer service

Roles and Responsibilities

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Greet clients and visitors to the Practice in a friendly and helpful manner and provide high levels of customer care.  

  • Answer the telephone promptly in accordance with Practice protocols. Directing calls to the appropriate department and person, taking detailed messages as required and ensure messages are passed to the appropriate person in a timely manner. 

  • Make appointments and hospital bookings for clients according to practice policies. 

  • Take payments from clients in accordance with Practice policy. 

  • To audit and maintain patient records. 

  • Liaise with dispensary staff regarding stock taking and replenishing drug and food stock.

  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post and emails on a daily basis. 

  • Undertake CPD and training as required. 

  • Proactive approach to supporting colleagues in training. 

 

Required Experience

The ideal candidate should be professional, confident and who will strive to deliver the very best service for our animals and clients.

  • Basic understanding of animal welfare 

  • Previous experience in working within a veterinary practice (Desirable)

  • IT skills – confident in the use of Word, Excel and Outlook as a minimum.

  • Strong administration and organisation skills.

  • Confident, committed, and able to work well under pressure.

  • Confident using the telephone.
