Role summary:

The position will join the Regional Cost Accounting team performing as an integral and autonomous partner, providing support and expertise in analytical accounting, management control and cost analysis to the Regional Cost Supervisor, Finance Business Partners team and operational leaders of each Business Unit and Platform. It will provide information, query resolution by calculating and analyzing costs from an accounting point of view to ensure compliance with revenue recognition Policy, inventory and other related US GAAP Corporate policies.

Responsibility within the scope of the Center of Experience (COE) for percentage of completion revenue recognition (POC) and sales recognition according to Incoterms (PiT), Inventory and Cost Analysis by product and platform. Mainly working for the Pozuelo Plant but supporting the rest of the sites in the Region, within the hub of the local accounting activities of the Region.

Your role:

Key individual responsibilities

  • Prepare, calculate and analyze reports on marginality, production costs and others for the organization of each product and service, as well as for the Region.
  • Analyze the differences between current and budgeted costs.
  • Ensure compliance with Flowserve's policies, U.S. GAAP, SOX, and local statutory laws and regulations, and that business is conducted within Flowserve's Code of Ethical Business Conduct.
  • Ensure the correct performance of internal controls, processes and supporting documentation of the area (Cost Accounting) and department (Finance-Accounting), implementing actions to remedy any deficiency.
  • Generation and posting of monthly journal entries related to provisions, advance payments, assets, etc.
  • As an expert in the field, possibility of traveling to the different production plants of the Region according to the support needs in complex issues (POC, Inventories, specific projects, etc.).
  • Within the scope of Analytical and Cost Accounting, preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of the trial balance accounts and financial statements of both the general ledgers and auxiliaries for Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Account.
  • Analyze and verify the correct treatment and reporting of the accounting entries posted, supervising the integrity, accuracy and compliance with the accepted accounting policies and principles.
  • Implement financial controls of production processes to provide accurate and timely accounting and reporting information to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordination with BSC for accurate accounting and neat financial statements. Support in the allocation of costs by project and POC accounting.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide financial information and analysis to management and associates in a clear, relevant and useful way for management decision-making.
  • Coordination in the production center with Business Partners, CSOF and Engineering, Production and Planning, Quality and other stakeholders to report accurate accounting and neat financial statements.
  • Support internal and external auditors, providing relevant explanations of calculations made and ensuring that all data and requirements are available for audit.
  • Support, coordinate and act as a "key user" (expert) in the implementation of new systems.
  • Ensure that all financial data is accurate, complete, and submitted in accordance with Flowserve's corporate calendar.
  • Ensure that local statutory and legal requirements, as well as corporate and fiduciary matters are complied with diligently.
  • Perform analysis to provide information to business management, including recommendations for decision-making.
  • Provide analysis and input for the business planning and forecasting process.
  • Prepare supporting documentation as required by tax regulations.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the cost department in a manufacturing environment, having managed the analysis of Sales and Marginality of Original Equipment and/or Repairs, Product Upgrades and Field Services (Maintenance Contracts and Urgent Services).
  • Proven experience and solid knowledge in the analysis and calculation of percentage of completion revenue recognition (POC).
  • Experience and solid knowledge in Business Units that work costs by Projects and/or Sales Orders by positions.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, with a special focus on ASC606.
  • Solid experience and knowledge in physical inventory analysis, annual and/or cyclical counts and categorization of materials according to US GAAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, with autonomy to work with data tables, pivot tables, VBA macros, complex formulas and links between different work files.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in the analysis of current and standard costs, efficiency study and indirect costs.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in the analysis of material costs, work orders and manufacturing (including calculation of rates – hours/machine, hours/employee and indirect costs "burdens"), projects and supplier invoices in at least two of the following systems (ERPs): Oracle STAR, SAP R3 and SAP S4 HANA or Fiori.
  • Proven experience and solid knowledge in the management of interfaces between ERPs.
  • Ability to investigate and monitor the production process to determine the correct allocation of costs to each sales order.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
  • Understanding of Financial Statements (Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and General Ledgers).
  • Previous experience working with the financial reporting requirements of a global organization.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend solutions for assigned projects autonomously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team, with good analytical, communicative and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and perform multipurpose tasks within the scope of cost analysis, ensuring the delivery of financial information in a timely manner.
  • Ability to adapt to change and search for the best solutions/processes proactively (continuous improvement).
  • Attention to detail and anomaly analysis
