We leverage Building Information Modelling (BIM) to enhance collaboration, improve design accuracy, and optimize project delivery across the entire lifecycle—from concept and planning through construction and operation. BIM enables us to integrate civil, structural, and mechanical elements seamlessly, ensuring cost efficiency and reducing risks.

Atkins Global Technology Centre (GTC) is seeking a Civil 3D Designer to join our Water BIM team. This role will be based at our Bangalore & Gurugram office, contributing to world-class projects by creating detailed 3D models, coordinating multidisciplinary designs, and ensuring compliance with international standards.

Your role

Key Responsibilities:

• Excellent in 3D Modelling of Pipe networks, Grading, Corridors, Cut and Fill using Civil 3D.
• Excellent in Multidisciplinary 3D model coordination using Navisworks
• Check model for Stage Completeness, Dimensional accuracy against modelling standards.
• Ensure Level of Quality control for Completeness and adherence to company standards of all Drawings produced.
• Stay informed the best practices & methodologies in BIM implementation.
• Able to perform and coordinate on multi-disciplinary projects and effective implementation of BEP and BIM workflows.
• Ability to determine appropriate record/As-built, test pit, drawings and point cloud data.
• Identify and solve drawing/ modelling problems and troubleshooting Civil 3D issues.
• Identify new logical ideas for automation to improve efficiency.
• In depth knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications. Ability to work using engineers’ calculations and design in producing drawings / 3D modelling.
• Ensures accuracy and adapts a detail-conscious approach; carefully checks details at each stage to avoid errors.
• Ensure timely planning and delivery by proactively managing assumptions, dependencies, and risk.
• Follow GTC BMS processes to projects
• Use of Vehicle tracking

Software Skills

• Autodesk Civil 3D
• AutoCAD
• Microstation (add on)
• BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of: Civil engineering drawings and construction methods
• Ability to work with Survey data, point clouds
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Attention to detail and quality-focused approach
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

About you

Qualification

Graduate Engineers (Bachelor’s degree) with up to 3 years or Diploma in Engineering with up to 7 years of relevant experience in the BIM domain or duly qualified having exceptional work experience track record

Desirable Experience

• Canada infrastructure or consultancy project experience
• Experience working within ISO 19650 BIM environment
• Awareness of Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows
