Smithfield Culinary, the away from home channel of Smithfield Foods, is looking for our next Associate Brand Manager - Foodservice, who will be responsible for activating and driving brand & sales driving relevant marketing plans to help achieve annual growth goals. This includes management of all brand & product sales materials, assisting in execution of national and local marketing programs, events and activation plans. Must partner with both internal and external partners as well as the various foodservice sales organizations to ensure we build a collective partnership.
Position will report to the Foodservice Marketing Director. This role requires a charismatic marketer who will own and deliver winning results and will be able to experience and excel all facets of product marketing. The ideal candidate is a natural relationship-builder with the ability to speak the language of the business, translating marketing metrics into business drivers that the Sales and Distributor partners value. This is an influential role, so the ability to communicate clearly, persuasively, and assertively is a must. We desire a strategic thinker who can build trusting partnerships while developing and executing Regional Marketing plans that can be clearly articulated and valued. Core Responsibilities
Brand/Product Management
Become the team’s product expert and established go-to resource as the expert on multiple categories with a variety of items within foodservice marketing.
Develops and distributes tools and materials for the Sales team that they need to achieve sales objectives (i.e. Imagery, Videos, Sell Sheets, POS, etc.).
Partners with cross functional teams to quickly create and publish product information. This includes product images, specifications, ingredients, and features and benefits ensuring that everyone is using the same information, reducing errors, and improving efficiency.
Analyzes market and evolving restaurant operator & chefs purchase trends along with consumer insights; recommending changes to marketing and product strategies based on analysis and feedback.
Develops category strategy and analysis and performs ongoing business analysis to drive the performance of the brand against defined business goals and objectives; leveraging syndicated and proprietary data.
Assists in gaining legal approval of all documents, contracts and materials that touch external stakeholders.
Assists with the development of customized sales presentations, executing customer marketing plans, and tracking product performance.
Participates in strategic meetings with Business Management and Sales to drive key initiatives.
Develops enhanced understanding of the P&L statement and the impact of Marketing to the P&L.
Attends customer presentations with Sales team, as possible, to continue to grow customer-focused mindset.
Advertising and Promotion Management
Develops agency relationships and assists in the preparation for internal and external presentations.
Owns all digital resources and communication platforms including website, resource toolbox, social media and internal product-focused management systems.
Assists in development and execution of an annual marketing plan that meets the growth objective of the business and brand.
Ensures integrated marketing plan drives consistent brand image and message throughout all advertising, packaging and promotional efforts. Drives agency partners to ensure plans perform to expectation; optimizing as necessary.
Participates in the evaluation of creative; gathering and providing one-voice feedback from the brand team to agency partners.
Identifies potential partners and manages partnerships, as assigned.
Innovation Management
Participates in the product development process with brand strategy team; identifying target audience, highlighting key insights, creating product proposition, and assessing market potential.
Leads creative exploration exercises to drive brainstorming and white space discussion based on insights for brand and categories.
Partners with innovation team help bring viable new products to market, as well as to optimize/renovate existing products as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from an accredited college or university in Marketing or closely related field and 3+ years of related experience and/or training; required.
Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching, or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
B-B marketing experience with a food manufacturer or agency preferred.
Direct experience or high-level knowledge with foodservice industry preferred.
Understanding of brand & associated product management disciplines, key marketing strategies, media and selling dynamics.
Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required.
Superior project management and process improvement skills.
Ability to prioritize projects, organize resources and direct projects efficiently to produce high quality and quantity outputs that adds value to the company, required. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure.
Familiar with Power BI, SAP and PMDM.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power point and Excel, required.
Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
