Job Description

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking an Analyst or Associate to join our Public Sector Origination desk, based in London.

As an Analyst / Associate in the team, you will be an integral part of our franchise; providing support to the Origination team in our coverage of international Public Sector institutions, across the currency spectrum. The role will include creating bespoke marketing materials to support the coverage team, while looking to identity appropriate funding opportunities for our clients. 

What will you do?

  • Prepare bespoke deal pitch ideas and materials to help RBC win DCM mandates from Public Sector clients, across the currency spectrum.
  • Assist in production & delivery of marketing materials, for internal and external circulation
  • Collaborate with key internal partners (Sales & Trading, RSG, Research & DCM desks) across the global platform to help develop new trades ideas to bring to the market across relevant markets
  • Serve as a key part of the broader European & Global Public Sector DCM teams, assisting the preparation and coordination of pitches, client coverage, market updates and cross-team marketing materials, and contribute to the broader team’s effort to win DCM business
  • Advise on and execute Fixed Income Investor Relations exercises as part of RBC’s value-add proposition
  • Prepare external issuer commentaries and other relevant data for issuer clients
  • Maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including DCM & Syndicate / Global Markets / Risk Solutions Group / Global DCM desks
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Experience of SSA DCM or other relevant experience
  • Minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent)
  • Understating of capital markets products, derivative and/or credit experience
  • Ability to develop and deliver longstanding relationships and client dialogue
  • Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work and coordinate effectively within a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Strong PC skills specifically in Microsoft Office applications required
  • Certified role
