Distribution Sales Manager

As a Hypertherm, Distribution Sales Manager (DSM), you will sell, promote, and support Hypertherm plasma systems, consumables, and parts through the establishment, recruitment, training, and development of a network of independent and national distributors maximizing Hypertherm's market share in your assigned territory.

The territory for this position is Ontario, Canada (concentration in Toronto area)
 
As a DSM at Hypertherm, you will have a direct impact by prioritizing and executing objectives based on sales area opportunities for greater market penetration, including:

  • Identifying new, and developing existing Channel Partners to maximize area coverage

  • Creating an annual business and area operating plan with key and developing Distributor Partners to meet sales objectives and attain continued market share growth 

  • Assessing training needs for distributors, developing, and executing a plan to fill requirements

  • Determining annual/quarterly sales targets 

  • Gaining the commitment and support for joint activities spread evenly throughout the year (i.e., trade show, open house, end-user visits, demos)

  • Having formal quarterly reviews with distributor management to review progress against targets   

  • Implementing new product launch programs while monitoring and reporting results based on the established plan

  • Continuing to promote existing products utilizing available sales tools to optimize sales processes and results

Who you are and what you bring to the position:

  • 3-5 yrs. Industrial sales experience with extensive experience in B2B environment with the ability to identify sales opportunities, demonstrate and present product features, benefits, and values using technical product knowledge, and train distributor sales force on our products

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years’ experience with welding/cutting preferred, managing a network of independent distributors in an industrial setting

  • Capable of solutions selling, recommending the appropriate integrated suite of products for the end-user application

  • Ability to develop, manage, and coordinate promotional programs with distributors that produce high-quality results

  • Competitive knowledge within the respective region/marketplace and our industry

  • Understanding of how distributors organize and operate in their marketplace

  • Current clean driver’s license

Physical Demands and Travel:

  • Travel: up to 50% per year (primarily driving)

  • Location: Home Based Ontario, Canada

  • Ability to work from a home office.

  • Located within 2 hours of a major airport

  • Ability to demonstrate systems (manage the movement of ~100 pounds)

  • Operate plasma equipment within safety guidelines

The DSM position is eligible for a company truck and incentive of up to 20%
