Roles and Responsibilities
Shift leader of the Ceramics Team in Global Nuclear Fuel’s (GNF) Fuel Manufacturing Operation (FMO). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Select, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel
Ensure team members are provided adequate training, resources, and support to assure safe and compliant manufacturing practices in a nuclear regulated environment
Be responsible for meeting the shift's strict EHS requirements, product quality requirements, and production schedule requirements.
Operation planning: Provides direction to support needs of production area, including work assignments, scheduling of overtime, and training.
Proficiently utilize a variety of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, & Outlook are most common) applications daily for data tracking, reporting, etc.
Support, encourage, and facilitate Human Performance principles. Engrain in the team use of HU tools as it relates to safety and quality.
Focus team on constantly seeking opportunity for improvement.
High-level understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles to facilitate, design, and implement continuous improvement of processes with the team.
Work with manufacturing engineering, support functions, and manufacturing leadership to provide technical, quality, and production leadership. Identify, effectively communicate, and own to resolution issues that may arise.
Communicate business goals, programs, and processes to shift.
Promote team engagement and ownership. Work with other shift supervisors as a team to implement consistent supervisory and operational practices.
Support manufacturing leaders in the strategic planning of staffing, equipment, and other resources.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus one (1) year of leadership experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.
OR Associate degree from a regionally accredited college/university (or verified equivalent) plus three (3) years of leadership or technical experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field.
OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in a nuclear, manufacturing, operations, military, or other related technical field with at least 1 year of experience in a leadership position.
Eligibility Requirements:
Ability and willingness to work 1st shift (6:15am - 3:30pm) in the Fuel Manufacturing Operation (FMO) and provide additional coverage as needed to other shifts in the same operation. May be required to work weekend overtime as needed to support business operations.
Ability to wear protective clothing and a respirator in accordance with site requirements.
Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times during the day.

Desired Characteristics
At least one (1) year of nuclear plant operations or services experience
Mechanical or ceramics engineering experience
Experience working in Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) or other highly regulated environment.
Strong techniques to ensure the team performs to high standards of procedural compliance.
Ability to interpret engineering documentation, such as P & IDs.
Strong organizational skills and ability to resolve daily urgent issues at the same time as working on continuous improvement projects.
Practical experience with identifying opportunities for and designing changes to processes based on Lean.
Experience in training and positively influencing teams of workers who are used to traditional batch processing environments during implementation of Lean changes.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Proven ability to create real and positive change. Proactively identify and provide practical options to manage and mitigate risks.
Actively participates and leads efforts to solve problems.
Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing certification. Experience implementing Lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
GE Program graduate, e.g., OMLP, EEDP (GE employees only).

The base pay range for this position is $91,700.00 - 152,700.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
