Team Overview:

Markets Operations Chief Operating Office team is part of the Markets COO organization, supporting Markets Operations across Program Execution, Data Governance, Business Execution and Controls & Regulatory Management. The Operations COO team are strategic partners to the Markets Operations organization for business management, change, finance, operational risk management, internal audit and regulatory and control needs.

This group partners with Operations Product Heads, the Markets Business and Technology to deliver strategic initiatives and Target Operating Models from a people, process, risk, scale and architecture perspective.

What you will do:

The Asia Cluster Operations COO Head is a newly created lead role as part of the Markets Operations COO team. The candidate will be responsible for building and leading the Asia Operations COO team, overseeing Program Execution, Risk & Control, and Business Execution for our Operations group within the Asia Cluster. The role provides a range of opportunities to impact and influence the overall target state design and implementation of our strategic transformation priorities. The successful candidate will be a key leader in our organization, directly accountable to the Markets Operations Global Head in Asia, ensuring seamless integration and execution of the book of work across the region. The role will further include taking a lead on key areas of root cause analysis, shaping investment business cases, and working across our partner groups to create and execute on delivery plans aligned to achieving business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Oversee the Team Buildout: Build and lead a high-performing team who will be the primary interface between Asia Markets Operations and Markets Operations COO for all matters relating to Program Execution, Risk & Control, and Business Execution.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive operational strategy within the Asia Cluster that algins with the overall business goals. This involves spearheading transformation initiatives to drive operational excellence and innovation with the Asia markets. Ensure the organization remains adaptable to market changes and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and strategic foresight.
  • Operational Efficiency: Streamline processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks. This involves overseeing processes of life cycle of a trade and other operational functions relevant to Markets Operations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner with global and regional stakeholders to support a strong end to end control environment. This includes effective communication, issue resolution, and ensuring the program scope meets operational objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with Markets Operations. Develop an effective control framework that fully meets Audit, Compliance and Regulatory requirements; contribute to the delivery of periodic presentations to external regulators as required. Direct the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.
  • Project and Program Management: Set up and manage program governance, overseeing multiple work streams, and ensuring that projects are aligned with business goals. This also involves budget management and ensuring the delivery of tangible benefits and associated KPIs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years' managerial experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Global Markets and Global Markets operations
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add impact
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented with attention to detail
  • Strong risk management and control mindset
  • Ability to conceptualize aspects of the organization’s model and its future development.
  • Prior operations or COO experience a significant plus
