About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support our Reinsurance team for the summer. This internship provides hands-on exposure to reinsurance accounting processes, financial analysis, and internal controls, while working closely with experienced professionals.

How will you make an impact?

You will have the opportunity to:

• Prepare and post journal entries within Workday and ReLogic
• Perform monthly analysis and reconciliation of designated general ledger accounts.
• Assist with analyzing and researching variances as well as providing logical/concise explanations for variances and/or fluctuations in a timely manner
• Assist with gathering data and preparing schedules for disclosures and related technical memos
• Assist with ReLogic testing for enhancements, upgrade, and implementation and/or termination of reinsurance contracts
• Ensure accurate reinsurance and accounting control procedures are maintained
• Generate monthly and quarterly reports for analysis of reinsurance premiums, losses, and exposure, etc. for use by management and reinsurers
• Obtain an understanding of MGIC’s reinsurance function and its relation to other departments as well as understanding our reinsurance programs

Do you have what it takes?

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, and SOX requirements
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Analytical mindset with the ability to communicate findings

Pay Range:

 

$37,830.00 - $56,750.00

 

This range aligns with current market data and reflects our commitment to competitive and equitable compensation. Salary offers are based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and training. The range may vary in certain locations to reflect local market conditions. It is not typical to initiate pay at the top of the range to account for internal equity and allow for future and continued salary growth
