The Lead CT Technologist serves as clinical expert for assigned territory.  Serves as primary trainer for new hires.  Performs scanning responsibilities.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs clinical scans.

  • Trains new hires and assists manager with maintaining annual Joint Commission compliance requirements.

  • Assists with day to day unit operational issues.

  • Works with team and customer on protocol development and review.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required

  • Must be certified as a Computed Tomography Technologist by the ARRT or the NMTCB if allowable by the state where service is being provided. The following certification designations meet Akumin policy:

  • ARRT(CT) or in states where allowable NMTCB(CT)

  • State license, if applicable

  • CPR Certification

  • Driver’s license, as applicable.

  • Minimum 3 years full time current scanning experience in CT.

  • Ability to work at several locations

  • A strong ability to lead and educate others

  • Strong customer service skills. 

  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills. 

  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

  • Travel may be required.

  • The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.

•    Lead/ Senior Experience

Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to a strong magnetic field, outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. May be exposed to environmental hazards such as exposure to noise, travel and radioactive isotopes, and ionizing radiation.

  • More than 50% of the time:

    • Sit, stand, walk.

    • Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.

    • See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.

  • Less than 50% of the time:

    • Stoop, kneel or crawl.

    • Climb and balance.

    • Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
