Department Overview

Motorola's Access Control Division's mission is to improve your workday with smart office technology at your front door. We are looking for candidates who can help us build, scale and innovate as we develop our industry leading platform for access control and office automation. Strong analytical and software skills are a must in order to join our team, and we are particularly seeking candidates with experience and skills in multiple technologies, in order to contribute broadly to our team-centric approach to product development.


Job Description

This position is remote and candidates can reside anywhere in the US.

Overview:

We are looking for someone to help us grow the infrastructure to seamlessly support the business and its growing customer base. Engineers, customers, and end-users will all be affected by solutions developed by our team. It’s a full stack on a small team with big company support. 

An ideal candidate will be passionate about problem solving, will look to automation to address issues, and will ultimately envision solutions to the next level. 

Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Building: Analyze, design, and implement the creation of a new AWS environment based upon an existing AWS cloud infrastructure using CloudFormation or CDK, ensuring compliance with operational standards.

  • Environment Management: Maintain and optimize existing cloud environments, ensuring availability, performance, and security.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with support, development, security, and compliance teams to ensure that infrastructure meets both operational and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring solutions and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and performance, troubleshooting issues as they arise.

  • Automation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, monitoring, and scaling of cloud resources.

  • Scripting and Development: Write and maintain scripts and applications in Python and Node.js to automate processes and enhance cloud operations.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud operations, specifically with AWS.

  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically AWS CloudFormation and/or CDK.

  • Strong understanding of AWS services, security best practices, and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).

  • Proficiency in Python and Node.js for scripting and application development.

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and additional scripting languages is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, ELK Stack).
