Student Communications Coordinator

Office of Student Affairs

Contingent 1, Part-time

Location: Remote

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Student Communications Coordinator serves as a member of the university's student communications team. The primary responsibilities include content review, development, configuration and alignment of multi-channel student communications. This role contributes towards a cohesive student communications experience across email, text messaging, classroom announcements, and phone outreach, with consistent messaging across all channels. Additionally, the Coordinator supports intake and governance processes and assists in updating messaging in ad-hoc communications and student journeys.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Content Creation & Maintenance: Work with team and internal clients’ requests to create, maintain or re-envision new and existing communications. Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.

Governance Adherence: Follow established work-stream and governance process set-up by student communication group. Participate in requirements gathering sessions, complete testing, conduct A/B testing and validation. Maintain comprehensive documentation of communications.

Strategic Alignment: Partner with colleagues to ensure communications align with the overall student communication strategy and student lifecycle.

Execute student communications, such as:

  • Build, test and execute email and SMS campaigns, leveraging advanced email capabilities to deliver upon hyper-personalization strategies.
  • Load call campaigns in Salesforce, collaborating with Office of Student Success and training teams.
  • Post blog articles and leverage cross-channel promotion to drive student awareness.

Consolidation Efforts: Combine relevant messaging and develop communications solutions, ensuring consolidation and preventing repetitive communications.

· Assists in conducting research, pulling campaign lists, and completing data lookups.

· Performs other job-related duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.

· Minimum of one (1) year multi-channel communications experience, including mass email and text message creation.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills to craft and edit student messaging.

· Understanding of student communications principles, including copy positioning, audience targeting, segmentation, channel strategy, layout and design impact, brand standards, and optimization techniques.

· Interest in exploring new, creative ways to engage students.

· Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment and adapt quickly to changes.

· Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel), reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

· Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud

· Familiarity with Salesforce and Tableau
