Job Title: Data Engineer
The Purpose of your role
Fidelity’s Advanced Process Solutions (APS) business unit is looking for Data engineering talent to help build technology solutions that are critical to strategic digitation efforts of the firm. The ideal candidate will have solid understanding of Snowflake design patterns and migration architectures along with strong hands-on experience in SQL, ETL, Python, Data Modeling and AWS. This role will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining the platform using Cloud and mature development strategies and ensuring the platform follows industry best practices around security, availability, resilience, and scalability.
The Team
As part of the Advanced Process Solutions division within Fidelity Investments, you will join a team of highly motivated & talented individuals tasked with building and maintaining data lake, reporting and governance solutions. This includes resolving platform technical needs, working with product owners and architects to determine the best technology choices and strategies to ensure success, and implementing solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.
The Expertise You Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / similar technical subject area and/or equivalent experience
2+ years of overall experience
Understanding of database concepts including design, schema, views, tokenization with any mainstream Database product such as Oracle etc.
Strong skills in SQL including ability to write and tune complex queries
Snowflake
Understanding of Snowflake roles and user security
Understanding of Snowflake capabilities like Snowpipe, STREAMS, TASKS etc.
Design solutions leveraging Snowflake native capabilities
Understanding of Snowflake design patterns and migration architectures
Hands-on experience in AWS, Python and Apache airflow
Hands-on experience with reporting tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is desirable

· Be a hands-on data engineer who brings experience working with cloud based scalable applications
· Participate in identifying and building technologies, practices, and tools needed to build the data platform
· Collaborate with diverse groups within the organization, implement the best engineering practices, and promote those across other APS products
· Conduct demos, participate in technical reviews and deliver engineering excellence
