Join Flexport as Commercial Manager and lead our growth in North/West Germany
The opportunity:

We are looking for a logistics enthusiast that is excited about our mission to make global trade so easy, there will be more of it.
As a Commercial Manager you drive business growth and you will lead and develop a high-performing team. In this pivotal role, you will define strategies for growth with existing customers, support your team in closing impactful deals, and spearhead initiatives to expand our market presence. As a key leader, you'll leverage tech-enabled freight forwarding solutions to solve customer challenges and position our business for sustained success.
Your Role:
Your responsibilities as a Commercial Manager, Germany North/West include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead a local demand team by driving client acquisition and retention as well as revenue generation;
- Identify strategies to generate new business with existing and new accounts, drive tactics with best-in-class execution;
- Coach and mentor the demand team on how to approach customers, source pipeline, close deals, identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities and develop strategic account plans;
- Establish methods and processes to build scalable commercial capabilities as well as instill a customer-first mindset within the team;
- Teamwork with functional teams, such as the operations team, to drive customers’ success;
- Handle customers escalations being a trusted advisor, recognized for deep logistics knowledge and consultative approach;
- Monitor KPIs reporting trends and market dynamics to senior management.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of people management experience in commercial teams, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding team sales quotas;
- 5+ years of experience in commercial and external-facing roles;
- Proven relationship management, people management, process management and analytical skills;
- Hands-on mentality and ability to deliver on a broad portfolio of responsibilities with minimal guidance;
- Proficiency in strategic and critical thinking, capable of translating strategies into actionable tactics;
- Effective time management skills coupled with a keen sense of urgency;
- Demonstrated logistics knowledge, a background in logistics or freight forwarding is strongly preferred;
- Excellent technical skills (e.g. Looker, SFDC, Excel);
- BA/BS degree requirements;
- Fluent in German & English
