A career with EROAD offers the unique opportunity to work in a fastgrowing organisation at the forefront of intelligent transport solutions — enhancing road safety, improving productivity, and reducing environmental impact. Our mission is to deliver intelligence you can trust, for a better world tomorrow.

We're looking for a talented and driven Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join one of our autonomous platform teams and play a key role in maintaining and developing EROAD's global SaaS platforms

This is a senior, hands-on role where your efforts will directly contribute to enabling our wider engineering teams to innovate faster and with confidence — all while ensuring our platforms meet and exceed key performance metrics

You'll be part of a positive, supportive, and proactive team operating within a self-managed Agile environment, where curiosity, collaboration, and doing the right thing are at the heart of everything we do

What You'll Do

  • Ensure EROAD's systems are operating at peak efficiency, performance, and uptime

  • Assist in root cause analysis of complex faults across large distributed systems and see issues through to full resolution

  • Drive aggressive automation of operational tasks to increase team scale and efficiency

  • Work with the team to deliver deployments of new SaaS application releases with minimal to no customer impact

  • Build and maintain metric collection and visualisation tools to support capacity planning, troubleshooting, and proactive system stability

  • Participate in the on-call roster to ensure high availability and swift incident response

  • Conduct performance and reliability testing to identify bottlenecks and single points of failure

  • Contribute to monthly reporting on platform cost, capacity, incidents, and performance

  • Mentor teammates, contribute to solution design, and lead by example in all that you do

  • Continuously evaluate and adopt modern reliability, observability, and deployment practices

  • Optimise cost across EROAD's cloud infrastructure while maintaining reliability and performance

What You'll Bring

  • Deep, hands-on experience operating Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) in production at scale

  • Strong experience with public cloud platforms — Azure or AWS

  • Proficiency with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technology

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Concourse, or similar

  • Practical knowledge of a scripting language such as Ruby, Bash, or Python

  • Exposure to monitoring, alerting, and visualisation tools such as Grafana, Sumo Logic, or Datadog

  • Understanding of automated provisioning tools such as Chef, Ansible, or Puppet (advantageous)

  • Experience with containerisation and PaaS products (advantageous)

  • Solid understanding of relational database systems, with experience in caching, in-memory databases, or NoSQL a bonus

  • A self-motivated, curious mindset with a proven ability to continually grow your knowledge and stay across emerging tools and technologies

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Keen interest in, or hands-on experience with, operating complex multi-tier distributed systems in production — particularly those involving real-time event processing or high-throughput data pipelines.
