Your Role and Responsibilities


We are now looking for a new Supply Chain Management Specialist to join our team at IEC LV Motors in Vaasa. As a Supply Chain Management Specialist you will play a key role in ensuring that we have the needed indirect materials, tools and production investments in place.

Your role will include ordering indirect materials and components according to required technical specifications for production, agreeing on price, delivery schedule and terms, negotiating with main suppliers and periodically renewing price lists, terms and conditions. Additionally, you will handle optimization of supply by overseeing supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues. The role will also include cooperating with stakeholders such as suppliers, production, engineering and sourcing.

You will mainly be responsible for:

  • Maintaining an optimal level of inventory
  • Forecasting volumes and value stock
  • Monitoring quality and resolving claims
  • Leading project purchasing including cost saving actions
  • Being a part of different supplier life-cycle processes (Qualification, Onboarding, Evaluation)

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree from a relevant field, such as international business, finance or similar
  • A few years’ experience in purchasing or supply chain management from a b2b environment
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing technologies in general
  • Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken to enable local and global collaboration
  • Customer-oriented, collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel,Word,Power Point etc.)
  • Knowledge and/or experience with of SAP
