Role Description

This position focuses on managing financial planning, reporting, and strategic analysis to support organizational growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will excel at balancing strategic insights with hands-on financial management in a fast-paced, SaaS startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual planning and quarterly forecasting, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections. Oversee OpEx planning and collaborate with Sales Operations on topline.
  • Develop long-term financial models and scenario planning to support corporate strategy.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership. Monitor and report on key financial performance metrics, comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.
  • Drive monthly and quarterly reporting. 
  • Oversee monthly departmental plan vs. actuals reviews with budget owners, presenting insights that influence cost-saving decisions.  
  • Collaborate with senior executives to develop financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. Provide financial insights for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Evaluate investment opportunities, capital allocation, and capital structure decisions.
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations to executives, board members, and other stakeholders. Present financial performance updates and forecasts during meetings and presentations.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems, tools, and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Implement best practices and technology solutions to optimize financial reporting and analysis.
  • Support quarterly Board deck preparation. 
  • Build models from scratch for new initiatives and ad hoc analysis.

Minimum Role Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Four years or more of public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • CPA or MBA a plus

Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Adaptive Insights a plus
  • Experience in all aspects of P&L management and reporting
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, and ERP/CRM systems 
  • Ability to interpret financial analysis and results
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience in the software industry and in a startup preferred
  • Mature attitude in protecting the confidentiality of sensitive information both internally and externally to the company
  • High degree of flexibility and customer service attitude
  • Well organized, ability to prioritize tasks and provide high-level of accuracy

Key Benefits

The annual pay range for the role is USD $114,000 to $170,000. 

Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills, and location. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
