Job Duties:
Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
Oversee project team members (senior project engineer, project engineers, superintendents, and field office coordinator). Mentor, develop and train project engineers for fast-paced growth. Maintain detailed/hands-on knowledge of construction project scope. Cost control/billings/collections/change management/cash flows/monthly status reports. Act as key point of contact with owner and architect. Challenge and support jobsite and self-perform work team. Accountable for project completion and financials, critical success factors, and customer satisfaction results. Coordinate and manage the execution of planning and scheduling of projects. Organize the duties of other engineers, field office coordinator, project accountant and other assigned project staff. This includes providing direction, prioritization, and performance feedback. Work with the superintendent in the implementation of DPR policies and the execution of the project. Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and fire protection system coordination from a cost control and construction perspective. Maintaining quality control to reduce defects and achieve a zero-punch objective. Ensuring the team is working well with each other, and appropriate resources are being utilized.
Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
Minimum education/experience requirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a project engineer-related occupation.
