POSITION SUMMARY:

The Outbound Selector is responsible for the accurate storing, shipping and receiving of products to meet company standards or safety, security, sanitation and productivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Select merchandise for shipment and stack on pallet neatly by using a pallet jack, forklift or cherry picker.

• Correctly label products so that label can be seen on the outside of the pallet.

• Picks orders for shipment and assembles various types of merchandise to be shipped.

• Loads and unloads freight in an efficient and safe manner.

• Moves product to storage area with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate areas.

• Scan boxes in and out of inventory.

• Recognize each pallet by route and batch number.

• Carry out pre-shift checks of equipment.

• Perform vehicle safety inspections visually and operationally

• Report any insecure or damaged vehicles to shift supervisor, manager or maintenance staff immediately.

• Assists in physical inventories as needed by breaking down and restacking merchandise from pallets during audits as needed.

• Process orders including picking, checking, sorting, consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, packing and loading and shipment confirmation of customers' orders.

• Checks and verifies freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation.

• Inform administrator of any difference in quantity or product description.

• Conduct and maintains a sanitary and safe work environment.

• Keep work area tidy by picking up scrap wood, paper, plastic wrappers and broken pallets for proper disposal.

• Assist with the unloading of trailers, operating any special loading-related equipment and using other equipment as necessary.

• Receives instructions from Dispatcher and/or Counter Personnel.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-2 previous experience in a food service environment

• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when selecting and staging orders.

• Safety Awareness: Strong awareness of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be able to read and write clearly.

• Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

• Valid Driver’s license not required, but preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequent holding and grasping with the hands when loading and unloading equipment.

• Frequent use of hands, foot/feet to operate equipment.

• Frequent lifting and/or pulling up to 100 lbs. without restriction.

• Must be able to work in varying facility conditions such as exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.

• Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as required.
