Job Overview:

The Dynatrace Implementation Engineer is responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining Dynatrace solutions to ensure optimal performance and visibility into applications and infrastructure. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep monitoring and performance management understanding.

Key Responsibilities:

Dynatrace Advisory:

  • Perform planning, consulting, technical analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and daily support of application monitoring and automation software
  • Develop and implement policies, strategies, guidelines, standards, and procedures
  • Define strategy and roadmap for Dynatrace monitoring, including rollout approach based on technology landscape and customer policies.
  • Design Dynatrace monitoring architecture based on IT landscape, security policies, and deployment approach

Dynatrace Deployment and Configuration:

  • Identify infra, apps, and business requirements for monitoring and design Dynatrace monitoring solution
  • Work with different technical teams across the organization to determine the scope for different monitoring solution designs.
  • Work with stakeholder leadership and teams to partner on the rollout of solutions.
  • Deploy and configure Dynatrace monitoring solutions across various environments (development, testing, production).
  • Integrate Dynatrace with existing systems and applications.
  • Customize Dynatrace settings to meet the specific needs of different applications and infrastructure components.

Monitoring and Performance Management:

  • Set up monitoring for applications, services, and infrastructure using Dynatrace.
  • Create and manage dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide visibility into system performance.
  • Analyze performance data to identify bottlenecks, trends, and potential issues.

Troubleshooting and Support:

  • Provide technical support for Dynatrace-related issues. Research and troubleshoot with support from SMEs as needed
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and support teams to resolve performance issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for performance problems and recommend solutions.

Optimization and Best Practices:

  • Develop and implement best practices for using Dynatrace effectively.
  • Optimize monitoring configurations and settings for improved performance and efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest features and updates in Dynatrace and incorporate them into the monitoring strategy.

Documentation and Training:

  • Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps related to Dynatrace.
  • Conduct training sessions for team members on the use and capabilities of Dynatrace.
  • Create user guides and manuals for internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct training sessions with demos for customer

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in deploying and managing Dynatrace in a professional setting.
    • Strong background in application performance monitoring and management.
    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Extensive background and experience in deploying and managing across complex global environments.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Dynatrace configuration and administration.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) is a plus.
    • Understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and application development processes.
    • Experience working with remote technical teams/resources.
    • Strong communication and executive-level presentation skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Dynatrace Certified Associate
  • Dynatrace Certified Professional

Work Environment:

  • Depending on the organization's needs, this position may require both remote and on-site work.
  • Occasional on-call support may be required to address critical issues.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $105,100 - $195,200.
