This role will be responsible for helping define and drive the future of our products, both hardware and software. Discover users need from our products and services by conducting research, working with cross-functional teams, and performing methodologically appropriate research studies. These responsibilities also include inspiring change, delivering oral and written presentations, evaluating qualitative and quantitative data, and helping the UX team better understand what would make a user’s experience more intuitive, accessible, and seamless.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize research to support the defining and driving of products, both hardware and software
- Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences, provide findings and recommendations
- Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs and online experiments (A/B testing)
- Partner with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers and other UXRs to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Understand and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research
- Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations
- Use a diverse set of UX research tools and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
- Protect Chamberlain Group’s reputation by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or MS in a human behavior related field such as HCI (Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Anthropology, Human Factors or related field) or equivalent and demonstrated work experience
Experience:
- Five or more years of UX research experience
- Experience with research design utilizing various methods including but not limited to usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys
- Experience with remote testing tools
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to quickly and effectively share research results
- Ability to perform all research-related tasks including research, planning, evaluating, and iteration
- Ability to formulate specific, answerable, and practical questions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and act as a strategic partner in product decisions
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to be a critical thinker (ask questions, gather data, and analyze data)

- Ability to craft and lead UX research using both qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis
- Proficient in a variety of UX research methods and tools, including rapid experimentation, prototyping, usability testing (remote and in-person), ride-along, journey mapping, card sorting, prototyping, user interviews, usability testing, persona development--know how/when to advocate for different methods
The pay range for this position is $76,600.00 - $144,700.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
