The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead the daily support and process enhancements within the product value stream at the Dodge Center facility. You are tasked with implementing standardization, creating stability and driving continuous improvement initiatives geared towards McNeilus’ key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, and Cost).

YOUR IMPACT

  • Creation and implementation of stand work in all facets.  
  • Identification, analysis, and assessment of manufacturing processes for transformative change improvements.
  • Assesses process capabilities, identifies improvement opportunities, and integrates new processes and equipment to maximize manufacturing throughput.
  • Review and select required special tooling and equipment.
  • Processing and implementing engineered change notifications throughout the facility.
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing and Product Engineering to implement new production processes.
  • Responsible for execution of assigned CI projects; also responsible for identifying projects that may lead to improved safety, service, quality and cost.
  • Assists in design for manufacturability for new product development through participation on cross functional product design teams. Establishes production process procedures and measurement parameters for new products and processes. Provides marketing and engineering with cost of new, redesigned, and current products.
  • Create & provide capital improvement justification for improvements in quality & cost.
  • Daily collaborate with production team members and engineering teams.
  • Analyzes operational data such as work force utilization, facility layout, and workflow to design layout of equipment and workspace following lean manufacturing principles for maximum effectiveness of workers and equipment. Ensures manufacturing systems are operational and functioning effectively.
  • Provides subject matter expertise for manufacturing processes and equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, Engineering or related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of equipment manufacturing industry or automobile industry.
  • Extensive experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.
  • Mastery in Microsoft Office Suite; including a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to embrace and drive change in the organization.
