This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for providing quality patient care thorough medication dispensing and professional services, under the supervision of a pharmacist. Ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patient’s needs, and counsel with appropriate documentation to all patients. Provide friendly, positive, and pro-active interaction with all internal and external customers as well create awareness and educate customers through public relations.


What you'll do (under supervision) 

  • Support all aspects of Pharmacy Operations including, but not limited to: 

  • Greeting Customers 

  • Prescription Order Entry 

  • Prescription Filling 

  • Non-Sterile Compounding where required 

  • Cash Register Duties 

  • Book Customer Appointments for Professional Services 

  • Provide timely and positive resolution to patient’s needs and Doctor’s requests/issues 

  • Provide Pharmaceutical Professional Services as legislated by pharmacy student scope of practice 

  • Ensure medication and over the counter supplements inventory levels is adequate to meet patients’ needs 

  • Counsel of patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and pro-active interaction 

  • Ensure medication and over the counter supplements inventory levels is adequate to meet patients’ needs (order medications and other supplies from wholesalers, receive medication wholesale orders, process medication returns and recalls) 

  • Adhere to Loblaw pharmacy’s standards of practice in drug distribution to ensure safe, accurate, and appropriate dispensing of medications  

 
What you’ll need: 

  • Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (in progress) with no cautions or findings limiting ability to practice Pharmacy 

  • Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Strong problem-solving skills including the experience formulating and executing action plans 

  • Strong personal computing skills (MS Office Suite), as well as knowledge of HealthWatch Pharmacy Computer system a definite asset
