We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer with strong expertise in database design, optimization, and administration, combined with proficiency in front-end development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting and maintaining robust database systems, ensuring data integrity, and delivering efficient queries. Additionally, this role involves developing intuitive, responsive user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks. The candidate should have experience in integrating databases with web applications, troubleshooting performance issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Architecture & Design: Model schemas, normalize/denormalize where appropriate, design indexing strategies, and implement partitioning for scalability and performance.
- Performance & Reliability: Profile and tune queries (e.g., execution plans, indexing, caching); implement high availability, replication, and disaster recovery; manage backup/restore strategies and capacity planning.
- Data Security & Compliance: Enforce least privilege, secrets management, encryption (at rest/in transit), and auditing; align to applicable standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI) with proper data retention and PII handling.
- Application Integration: Build and optimize REST/GraphQL endpoints and data access layers; implement caching layers (e.g., Redis) and pagination strategies; ensure consistent contracts and versioning.
- Front-End Development: Develop responsive, accessible UIs with React/Angular/Vue and TypeScript; implement state management, routing, and component libraries; ensure cross-browser compatibility and A11y (WCAG).
- User Experience & Performance: Optimize Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP), lazy loading, code splitting, and asset pipelines to deliver fast, intuitive experiences.
- CI/CD & Automation: Implement automated build/test/deploy pipelines; write unit/e2e tests (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Playwright); enable blue/green or canary releases.
- Infrastructure & Observability: Utilize containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and IaC (Terraform/ARM/Bicep/CloudFormation); add logging/metrics/tracing (e.g., ELK/Datadog/Prometheus/Grafana) and set SLOs/SLIs/alerts.
- Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations; perform root cause analysis, postmortems, and reliability improvements.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with product, design, and backend teams; create high-quality technical docs, runbooks, and diagrams. #LI_DNI
