The Sr Repair Planner operates as a highly visible member of the supply chain.  This role coordinates with operations, inventory control, forecasting/scheduling and procurement to meet repair production plans. This role is a critical part of the Assurant Repair & Logistics team, providing significant visibility to senior leaders and customers with data that will be utilized throughout organization for budgeting, manufacturing, and supply planning.  This individual will also align demand with supply as part of a holistic Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) framework.  This individual will analyze the business results providing insight to support strategic decision making.

This is an onsite role in our Irving TX facility with a schedule of Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

  • Support materials planning, production planning, and scheduling activities to ensure timely repair and kitting operations.
  • Work/Shop Order Management: Create and release shop orders. Analyze MRP recommendations on shop orders by checking for capacity constraints and material shortages.
  • Perform Clear to Build (CTB) analysis to verify material availability and prevent production disruptions due to shortages. Ensure that no production plan is released to Manufacturing without a verified material certainty. 
  • Analyze and evaluate production capacity daily, considering factors like bottlenecks, run rates, productivity, and equipment utilization. Identify and manage bottlenecks, understanding their critical impact on overall system throughput.
  • Maintain and update BOM/BOR setups in collaboration with the materials engineer.
  • Assist in the NPI process for repair and kitting of new devices, ensuring accurate material readiness.
  • Prepare and maintain E&O (Excess & Obsolete) reports to track and manage inventory risk.
  • Process E&O reductions through supplier returns, customer claims, and third-party sales, contributing to liability reduction.
  • Execute planning processes for purchasing materials at lead time and applied time-phased planning within the materials team.
  • Work with operations to validate attach rates for repair parts, ensuring accurate consumption tracking.
  • Build and maintain forecasting tools to provide visibility into material requirements for account management.
  • Follow standardized planning processes with or without ERP/MRP systems, ensuring repeatable and sustainable workflows.
  • Calculate and maintain safety stock levels based on forecast variance and SLA requirements.
  • Generate weekly and monthly build plans for repair and kitting operations and communicate plans to customers.
  • Monitor WIP and material issues daily, coordinating with customers to resolve shortages or identify substitutes.
  • Support lifecycle planning for products, adjusting purchasing policies and reducing EOL inventory exposure.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet DOI targets by processing E&O, communicating push-outs/cancellations, and reducing high-cost materials.
  • Establish processes and metrics to assess and continually improve scope and accuracy of forecasting platform and outputs.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of the Global and Executive S&OP process.

 
What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • 8+ years’ experience in demand planning or production planning with at least 3 years of repair planning
  • ERP and WMS system experience, Oracle preferred
  • Preferred: APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification or class work
  • Expert Excel and Database modeling skills
  • Proficient in forecasting or statistical software
  • Use SAS or SQL to extract data from databases
  • Active involvement with customers and business partners in the follow-up and resolution of problems and issues

  • Working knowledge of all facets of demand forecasting, sales forecasting, and corporate sales and operations planning (S&OP) processes
  • Progressive experience in planning, forecasting, and inventory management

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?  

  • This position requires incumbents to regularly sit at a desk and operate standard office equipment such as computer and phone
  • Employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, lift, carry, and/or move up to 20 pounds

Pay Range:

$ 72.900,00 - $ 121.900,00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
