As Trauma Program Manager, you will promote optimal trauma care through clinical activities, administrative functions, professional education and performance improvement activities. You will work closely with trauma physicians, nurses and providers to enhance patient experiences and care. On the team, you will enhance your quality management and coordinating skills while exploring additional avenues of self- and organizational development. 

 

A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM – 4:30PM. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Collaborate with other disciplines throughout hospitals to develop and implement the American College of Surgeons (ACS) standards for care of trauma patient. 

  • Ensure compliance with Ohio state law as related to Trauma Centers and trauma patients. 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with community officials, trauma and EMS organizations as a liaison for the Hospital. 

  • Represent Trauma Service on selected hospital and community committees. 

  • Co-chair trauma related committees in collaboration with the Medical Director for Trauma. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Five years of experience in Emergency Department or Critical Care Nursing 

  • Current valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Professional Nursing 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) audit or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) 

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) 

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires frequent data entry, walking and sitting.

  • Occasionally lifts and carries item weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Some exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
