PRIMARY PURPOSE:  

We are looking for an experienced Show Technician to join our Atlantis Show team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for safe technical operations; ability to operate, maintain, install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment used in technical production, to include; robotics, hydraulics, steam and boiler operation, water and fire effects, lighting and sound; ability to evaluate equipment needs; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and strong customer service skills.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Integral participant with Show operations, to include maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment
  • Proficient with installation and repair of all technical and mechanical elements required for the operation of the Atlantis Show, fountains and Aquarium.
  • Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to designated equipment; make adjustments to equipment and controls to ensure operations are in compliance with specifications and/or standards.
  • Perform the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines (i.e. EPA, OSHA standards) to promote a safe working environment.
  • Administer compliance of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to areas such as fire, safety, hazardous material, access etc.
  • Promptly reports to supervisors when supplies and/or hardware are needed or if a tool is becoming unusable or unsafe
  • Sources and prices needed materials and supplies for effective and continuous operation of all show elements
  • Keeps supervisors and team members informed of progress and asks for help when needed
  • Maintains excellent communication to facilitate the organization’s continuing functionality
  • Performs the essential job functions safely, successfully, and consistently with, OSHA and other federal, state, and local standards, including COVID related health and safety protocol for performing arts venues, hazards, and safety practices
  • Proficient in multiple maintenance and repair activities related to interior and exterior areas of the property including, but not limited to, controls, pneumatics, structural elements, lighting controls and fixtures, plumbing, fountain repair and maintenance,
  • Electrical, pyro, steam, welding, boiler maintenance, programming, audio and visual equipment and cctv installation and repairs
  • Routinely inspect facility, identify potential issues, and alerts supervisor of needed repairs
  • Assists in developing the scope of needed repairs and required parts, tools and materials of show elements, entertainment features or other center operational items
  • Assist other departmental staff, with limited assistance when needed such as A/V equipment and IT resolutions
  • Daily cleaning/sanitizing of equipment and facilities
  • Employee may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Capability to diagnose problems on equipment
  • Must have technical experience with live entertainment events
  • Ability to disassemble, clean, lubricate, repair and replace parts, as required.
  • Able to diagnose basic malfunctioning mechanical systems, test components; trouble shoot and repair replace or adjust defective or worn parts.
     
  • Able to work at heights from Genie lifts, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Existing Fire and Combustion Certifications a plus. Must be able to obtain Fire And Combustion Certifications.
  • Familiar with Steam Systems and valves
  • Must have the ability to operate a variety of equipment to perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs and maintain cleanliness of the property
  • Basic understanding of computer systems and safety systems
  • Must be able to work from technical drawings
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs if required
  • Able to be punctual and stay on schedule
  • Knowledge of safety rules, hazards and application of accident prevention measures associated with the operation of mechanical equipment.

  • Able to work on a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays when required
  • 3D Modeling software experience a plus
  • 7+ years’ experience.

The salary range for this position is $34.25 - $55.29.  Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon various factors, including an individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications
